I just got a new vacuum. The vacuum I purchased is the Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Pet Upright Vacuum, Bagged, UH30310 from Amazon.com.
I’ve only used the vaccum a few times to date, but so far, I have to say, I am liking it.
The machine has great suction and at just 15 pounds, is a lot lighter than my old machine — which is terrific. I need a light machine because my home (unfortunately) has wall-to-wall carpeting, including on the stairs that lead to my home’s second level. (I would prefer wood floors, which look better and gather less dust, but they are pricey.)
The machine I had before is the Eureka Boss, which also has great suction and is priced, like the Hoover, at just over $100. But at over 24 pounds, the machine was difficult for me to manuever on the stairs.
So, I resorted to using the machine’s flimsy hose for cleaning the stairs, which caused me to break two hoses and go through two Eureka Boss vacuums in about six years. (I replaced the vacuums instead of repairing them, since the cost to repair them at the local vacuum repair shop is more than buying a new machine.)
So far, I’ve disccovered that the hose on my new Hoover is much tougher than the one on my old Eureka, so hopefully, the hose on my new vaccuum will outlast the ones on my previous vacuums!
The hose on my new Hoover is nice and long (and comes with an extension wand), so I’ve even been able to vacuum up dust I’ve spotted on a ceiling fixture with just a reach of the wand.
So hopefully, my new Hoover vacuum will outlast my old Eureka vacuums — only time will tell. But, at least I am still able to use my old Eureka — the floor suction works, it’s just the hose that’s out of commission.
But thanks to one reader, who suggested repairing my old vacuum’s hose with some duck tape, I might be able to get the hose working on my old vacuum, as well. That would be great, as it would mean less lugging of vacuums up and down stairs.

Review by N. Nick for Rating: I am so glad I saw this item on Amazon.com. Over the years, I had been forced to use both my uprgiht and a canister vacuum the canister was used to clean around the baseboards. Now that I have the extended hose, I can vacuum my entire home with my uprgiht which has much better cleaning power than my old canister vac. Although the actual intent is to totally replace the original hose on the vac with the extended hose, I kept the regular hose in place snipped off the clips of the extension hose so I can now insert it into the original hose. This way, I really have a great extension hose. The price is right too, so don’t hesitate to get one. I bought extras for my kids too as they have dogs, and having an extended hose makes vacuuming the furniture a breeze. Just to let you know this extension hose is NOT intended for the bagless Hoover Upright, only the bagged cleaners. I don’t know why, but it stated this on the package. Just be aware.
