how to host a family Christmas White Elephant Game

Now that my daughters are teens, we have been looking for a new Christmas Eve tradition to play together. We used to put out milk and cookies for Santa Claus and "magic reindeer food" out on the driveway for Santa's reindeer. But now that we don't do those traditions anymore, I thought that it might be fun to play a family "White Elephant" game on Christmas Eve. I am sharing this list of fun unconventional Christmas movies as part of the Festive Christmas ideas blog hop! This blog hop will share lots of holiday ideas, recipes, crafts and decor ideas to make the Christmas season extra Continue reading...

How to Enjoy Your Backyard this Summer

July 3, 2020 By Lauren

woman playing a game of corn hole

With the Coronavirus on the increase, it's unlikely that my family and I will be traveling for summer vacation. Even if my family doesn't go away this summer, there are ways to have fun -- even if it's just in our own backyard. I am hoping to have lots of summer backyard fun with my family! Roast Hot Dogs & S'Mores This weekend, we won't be going to a cookout with family and friends. But we might enjoy some time around our new fire pit. I recently purchased a Landmann fire pit(at 50% off ) from Amazon. Eventually I would like to build a DIY paver fire pit around our metal Continue reading...

Topgolf – Family Fun, Golfing & Good Food

Lauren of Mom Home Guide golfing at Topgolf in Mount Laurel, NJ

This post was sponsored by Topgolf of Mount Laurel, NJ. My family and I received a free visit to Topgolf in exchange for my honest review. My family and I aren't golfers, but we had an awesome time golfing this past Sunday at TopGolf in Mount, Laurel, NJ. Topgolf is a top-notch entertainment center for all ages that has locations across the U.S.  The concept of Topgolf is really a lot of fun -- when you play at Topgolf, your family or party is assigned a hitting bay, much like you get a lane when going to a bowling alley. You pay for the bay by the hour, not per person, and up to six Continue reading...

Puppy Summer Road Trip to New York & Canada — Part I

August 7, 2018 By Lauren

shih tzu at fountain in Phillipsburg, NJ

My family and I recently got back from an amazing road trip to the Niagara Falls, Canada and New York's Finger Lake region. Best of all, we brought our new Shih Tzu puppy, Mochi, with us! The trip passed by in a blur, and I can't believe that we are back home already. We adopted Mochi in January, and weren't ready to leave him in a kennel. I've read that the Niagara Falls and New York's Finger Lakes region is dog friendly. So we settled on upstate New York as this summer's vacation destination. I used the app, Bring Fido, to locate the puppy-friendly hotels and many of the sites we visited Continue reading...
