If you’ve visited this blog before, you might know that my family has adopted a puppy! Our pup, whom we’ve named Mochi, is an adorable approximately 4-month-old male Shih Tzu. He has become part of the family! I’ve been wanting to create a family gallery wall for some time now. I thought that now that there is a new family member in our house, now would be a good time to start that gallery wall.
I decided a good space for the gallery wall was the empty wall in my home’s upstairs hallway. Until recently, the wall had a colorful wall mural for kids on the main wall. I’ve recently taken that mural down now that my daughters are in high school.
I decided to make a canvas print of a recent photo I took of Mochi on one of our walks. I decided to have PhotoWall, a Swedish brand that specializes in (Scandinavian) art murals and canvas prints, create my print. With PhotoWall, you can make a print using any of their landscape, art, nature, city or pop culture images, or make a print using a photo of your own. I like that PhotoWall’s products are environmentally friendly, fire-retardant and don’t fade in sunlight.
I chose to order my print of my puppy Mochi with a do-it-yourself-more than 1-inch-thick frame from PhotoWall. I’m not exactly good at putting stuff together, so when I received my PhotoWall package with my rolled up canvas and a do-it-yourself frame, I was a little worried I’d mess up the frame!
I was thinking of calling my teen daughters over to help me assemble the frame, but after reading the directions that came with my frame, I had my Mochi puppy print properly framed in the sturdy PhotoWall frame in minutes. To affix the frame to the canvas, I simply pulled back the strips of paper off the bottom of the frame pieces to expose an adhesive surface. I pressed the frame sections to the edges of the canvas, folded the corners of the canvas in, rolled the frame pieces inward, and then screwed the four supplied corner braces onto the frame. And I was done — no tools were required!
I love how the print of Mochi came out — I would love to make some more family prints using PhotoWall.

I think Mochi agrees that he looks great on our hallway wall!
Quick & Easy Gallery Wall Hanging
Since getting puppy, I don’t have as much time as I used to. I’ve heavily involved in working to get our new pup house-trained. I have to keep a constant eye on him to make sure he doesn’t get into mischief!
So I was looking for a quick and easy way to get my beautiful new PhotoWall canvas print of Mochi up onto my family’s new family wall. I was glad to have discovered VELCRO® Brand HANGables™.
With the VELCRO® Brand HANGables™ I didn’t need to search for a stud, put holes in my wall or hunt for some nails and a hammer. I chose HANGables™ suitable for hanging frames of up to 16 lbs. First, I affixed one side of a HANGables™ pair on the frame on either side of the frame.
I attached the VELCRO® side of a HANGables™ pair on top of it. Also — in the picture above and below, you can see the really cool screws that hold the PhotoWall frame together. You can see why I didn’t need any tools. I just hand tightened the screws to assemble the frame. I wish all screws were like that!
I pulled off the protective covering on each adhesive, and pressed my frame against the wall. And my canvas photo was hung!
Now that I have a photo of Mochi up on the wall, I have to work on hanging some other family pictures. Thank goodness I have a good stash of VELCRO® Brand HANGables™ for the job!

What a beautiful frame! I just love the size. I have one large canvas of us from our wedding, but I think its smaller than your canvas frame of Mochi. I love how easy you can hang something, without even a nail! Maybe I need to stop bugging my husband and try that way sometime soon! I have a lot of stuff to hang in my office.
