Summer Adirondack Chair Gift Basket Idea

Summer is a big gift-giving time of year for me and my family. There are lots of summer birthdays and anniversaries to celebrate, not to mention graduations! I recently came up with a fun summer gift idea that I think would be perfect for just about any occasion.

To me, summer is a time to kick back, enjoy and relax. So I thought it’d be great to package some fun summer recreational items in an Adirondack chair to gift someone special some summer enjoyment and relaxation.This time of year it’s easy to find vibrant plastic Adirondack chairs on sale — I got my Adirondack chair for just $17. I then found some other fun, but inexpensive items to fill the Adirondack chair with. I think this makes a cool gift — I would like to receive one!

I started putting my Adirondack chair gift basket together by going to Walmart. In the greeting card area, I picked up a birthday card by American Greetings for my Adirondack chair gift basket. I also got another birthday card for this summer, two cards for fun summer holidays, plus two graduation cards. (My twin daughters and daughters of friends of mine recently graduated middle and elementary schools.) There were so many great choices at my local Walmart!

In the same area, I chose a colorful bow and a turquoise blue and white striped gift bag.

 I also got some blank cards for some fun summer “holidays” – Hug Your Kids Day on July 17 and International Day of Friendship on July 30.

Summer Gift “Basket” Idea

For my Adirondack chair “gift basket” I chose items that I thought would be great for relaxing or playing in the backyard. One of the first items I chose is a book of Sudoku puzzles, a beach towel and a hat in a cute summer print. My kids and I have been into Sudoku number/logic puzzles lately. We enjoy getting some sun in the backyard (or cooling off in the shade) and working on a puzzle or two. The puzzles can be quite relaxing! I have to admit that my kids complete the puzzles I lot quicker than I do!

I also added a lawn tennis paddle and ball and a bocce ball set to the Adirondack chair gift basket for some backyard fun.
