Luxury Room Darkening Curtains (Review)

The Therapedic® Carlisle 100% Blackout Rod Pocket Window Curtain Panels come in various lengths — 63″, 84″ 95″ and 108″.

I opted to hang the room darkening curtains in my home’s master bedroom — that room faces east and gets plenty of morning sun, while our guest room’s small window doesn’t let in much light. 

My home’s master bedroom has tall lofted ceilings with big windows. The curtain rod is at about 9 feet from the floor, so I chose the 108″ inch blackout curtain panels. I love that my new blackout curtain panels are long enough to cover the half moon window above the double window in my bedroom and still reach the floor.

A lot of light streams through that half moon window in the morning. Covering the window with gorgeous 100% blackout curtains effectively darkens my home’s bedroom in the morning.

TIP: These curtains make a great Christmas or holiday gift! They are also a thoughtful touch for a guest room when hosting holiday guests.

My bedroom is a soft sage green. I thought the taupe room darkening panels would look nice, so I went with those. (The panels are offered in 6 different colors.) I love how soft and thick the velvet Therapedic® Carlisle 100% Blackout Rod Pocket Window Curtain Panels are! The blackout curtain panels are lined, which help to prevent drafts, trap heat inside during the winter, and keep a room cool in the summer.

The room darkening curtains have a rod pocket and back tabs, so you can choose which way to hang them. My husband and I opted to use the back tabs, which made hanging the curtains super easy.

Our bedroom faces east and gets a lot of morning sun, so I was looking forward to trying out these blackout curtains! My husband helped me put the curtains up this weekend, and they look great!

When I woke up the next morning, I had to check my nightstand clock to see what time it was. I was surprised at how dark it was in the room!

 I like that the panels just need to be washed in the washing machine, too. (The panels I previously had hanging in the room must be dry cleaned, which can be pricey.)
