Over two years ago, I started my new job as a full-time content writer with a Pennsylvania media company. I am a remote employee, and I really enjoy enjoy working from my home office! I have been working to make my office as comfortable as possible, so I thought I’d share a few details of it with you.
You might notice that my office is decorated in a Pooh Bear theme – it used to be my twins’ baby room. They adore the decor that my husband put up, so we have never changed it! I used to want change out the baby theme, but now I enjoy the calming blue and green colors and the sweet memories the decor brings me now that my kids are in college.
One of my favorite accessories is my Flexispot standing desk. Below my standing desk I keep my Redliro wallking pad and I try to walk as much as I can while I work. My husband and kids gifted me the walking pad to me for Christmas, and I was so happy to get it! I have discovered, however, that I am not good at multitasking—writing and walking at the same time is too hard for me—I almost fell off once— so I can only really use the walking pad while I am proofreading final manuscripts.
While I am writing, I use a little loveseat so I can sit with my Shih Tzu snuggled up to me. Writing with my puppy next to me really makes the day better! To make the loveseat more comfortable, I made a cushion using an adorable bird toile fabric from Premier Prints. Premier Prints has such wonderful fabrics—I made the cushion several months ago, and it is holding up well.
I have also added a prism privacy film to the window next to my desk—I love the rainbow colors it casts in my office during the day. In addition, I have the lamps in my office plugged into Kasa Power Strips and an Echo Dot in the room—that way I can give voice commands to Alexa during the day to turn my lamps on and off and can also use my Echo Dot to listen to music and get weather reports, etc.
Now that the weather is getting warmer, I am going to set up a workspace on my backyard patio, too! My husband and kids got me a cute outdoor loveseat for me and my pup for Christmas—I will share my outdoor office setup here soon! In the meantime, I am trying to figure out an inexpensive way to get shade over my loveseat. If you have any ideas, let me know! The below is a sneakpeak of my loveseat.
