Time to Replace the Christmas Valences

written by Lauren

LOL. After publishing my most recent post about Homemade Holiday Pillows and Curtains, I realized that I haven’t taken down the Christmas valences I made for my home’s bathrooms. So, I am posting a photo of one of them before I remove them both.

Perhaps it’s time to make St. Patrick’s Day valences. I just have to find some good fabric!

Does anyone have suggestions on where to buy quality fabric for curtains? I am thinking of trying Joann Fabric and Craft Stores or perhaps fabric from Ikea, because after I make the St. Paddy’s Day valences, I’d love to make some drapes for my home office. (At the moment, the windows in my home office are only covered with blinds.)

Have ideas? I’d love to hear from you!

For tips on how to make professional lined curtain panels, check out this blog — it includes an awesome tutorial with step-by-step instructions: http://www.houseofhepworths.com/2011/10/12/how-to-make-professional-lined-curtain-panels/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+HouseOfHepworths+%28House+of+Hepworths%29

Any of these fabrics from Joann might work for my St. Patrick’s Day Valences: http://www.joann.com/search/_irish/fabric

I love the red (deep rose?). My mother designed her dining room in these same tones (late 50 s). Gray, ivory, gold and deep rose drapes. Thanks for prompting happy memories. Have a great day.
