I have long been a big fan of lilies. My parents grew lilies in the backyards both of my childhood’s homes when I was growing up, so I have a sentimental attachment to them. It is easy to remember the beautiful patch of orange day lilies that grew in our backyards. I always remember the lilies as a hallmark of the many fun summers that I spent in my backyard with my family.
Now that I am a homeowner, I have planted both orange and yellow day lilies in my flower beds, and I just love them! I hope to soon start digging another flower bed on the south side of my home. In that new garden bed, I hope to add lots and lots of lilies!
Liles – A Great Gift
I recently received potted flowers for Mother’s Day, which made me realize: Potted lilies would make a great gift! Beautiful lilies come in so many colors and can be made into gorgeous flower arrangements perfect for any home. (Take a look at this lily Pinterest page for some really great lily flower arrangements!)
After potted bulbs finish blooming, they often can be planted outdoors so they can be enjoyed in the garden, too! Gifting lilies is easy for the gift giver, since they can be purchased almost anywhere: at flower shops, garden stores, and even at the grocery store! The fact that lilies can so easily be purchased for a great gift is perfect for a busy mom like me — I never have the time to search for the perfect gift, so being able to pick up some lilies from my local garden shop or grocery store is a big help!
