What does fall weather make you think of? I think of fall leaves, hayrides, pumpkin picking and fall home decor! But I also think of chilly fall nights and rising home energy bills! It makes me want to put on a pair of fleece PJs and hide under some warm covers!
I’d love to find a way to reduce my home’s energy bills this fall and upcoming winter. My husband and I have already installed an energy-efficient furnace, an energy-efficient Nest Learning Thermostat and replaced some of our windows with energy efficient ones. We also do little things to conserve energy like turn down the heat when we are away and at night and wear warmer clothes indoors when the temperatures start to dip!
Questions About Going Solar
A neighbor has installed solar panels on her home, and I would love to do that, too! I was glad to recently learn some of the misconceptions about going solar. With the help of Sunrun, I’ve learned that:
1. Going solar doesn’t have to cost a lot of money upfront. Sunrun offers solar leasing, which means you don’t have to purchase or pay to maintain the solar panels on your roof. You can get solar on your roof for as little as $0 down and start saving on your monthly electricity costs immediately.
2. Going solar is not that complicated. Homeowners who install solar with Sunrun don’t have to sweat the details — Sunrun will design your solar energy system, install the panels, maintain them and monitor your home system’s energy production.
3. Going Solar Will Save You Money. Sunrun won’t sell a system to you unless they think they can save you money and provide you with electricity that is less expensive than the electricity you get from your utility.

I feel you. Electricity cost is getting to be so expensive. Although I live on the other side of the world from you, we have sun, sun, and sun most of the year which means having the air conditioning units turned on most of the time. I wish that company would have expand their business here in the Philippines!

Very interesting topic. It would at least be worth looking into how much it would cost to install versus savings on an electricity bill. Plus, of course, the positive impact on the environment!
