On Father’s Day, I often like to treat my husband to a home-cooked meal. I can cook on the grill, but my husband is the true grill master! So when I grill, I usually look to simple recipes that I can custom tailor to my family’s tastes. When I grill, I usually stick to burgers.
That’s why I like the Smoky Bourbon Spice Set from Shari’s Berries. With the Smoky Bourbon Spice Set from Shari’s Berries, I can add a different spice to everyone’s burger according to what they like. In the spice set trio, there is bourbon smoked paprika, bourbon smoked pepper and bourbon smoked sea salt.
To add a custom flavor to each family member’s burger all I have to do is sprinkle each person’s selected spice before grilling their burger on our patio’s grill. When grilling burgers, I buy pre-made frozen burger patties that can go right from the freezer to the grill. So easy!
Smoky Barbecue Flavors
I tested some of the smoked paprika on a burger this week, before grilling for my family. I really like the smoky flavor — it is the perfect flavoring for a grilled burger! I gave the spices a test run this week (before debuting them on Father’s Day), but I think my husband would probably want to add some of the smoked paprika and the bourbon smoked pepper to his burger! I think it would also be good to make a custom blend with the bourbon smoked paprika, bourbon smoked pepper and bourbon smoked sea salt. I taste-tested all three, and think they all taste great.
Fun Burger Toppings
My family and I love our burgers to have lots of flavor. When we grill burgers at home, I like to set up a burger toppings bar, so we can all customize our burgers to each person’s preference. These are some of the toppings we like to use:
Mustard
Ketchup
Horseradish sauce
Lettuce (I like red leaf)
Tomato
Sliced raw red onion
Pickles
Sliced melted cheese — we especially like pepper jack, mozzarella or Monterey Jack
Sliced avocado or guacamole

Father’s Day Dessert
My family and I got to try out the Half Dozen Salted Caramel Strawberries from Shari’s Berries. Since the strawberries arrived this week, we decided to break them out before Father’s Day, while they were at their best!
One daughter and I prefer dark chocolate, while the other daughter and my husband prefer milk chocolate, so it’s perfect that this collection of chocolate-covered, salted caramel strawberries comes in both dark and milk chocolate!
The strawberries are also dipped in buttery salted caramel, so they are extra delicious! My family and I enjoyed sharing these delicious treats together.
I am looking forward to trying out some new grilling recipes with my new Smoky Bourbon Spice Set — it might help me to up my game at the grill!
