Adding Greenery to a Family Room

January 31, 2017 By Lauren

Thank you to Commercial Silk Int’l for providing me with product, free of charge, in exchange for this blog post.  All opinions are 100% my own.

We are almost halfway through winter!  February 2, Ground Hog Day, is the midpoint between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. To celebrate, I added faux greenery to my living room. I got my greenery from Commercialsilk.com. I chose to get a two-pack of faux grass potted in white rectangular wooden planters. I like how the white brightens up the space, and I enjoy seeing some greenery in the middle of winter.

Since Valentine’s Day is approaching, I added some of the hearts my husband has given to me over the years to the console table. (He gives me new heart ornaments every Christmas.) I also added a bowl with some floating orchid candles. One ornament is a cute ceramic heart, one is a golden filigree heart and the other is a cloisonne-style heart.

I also decided to decorate the top of the piano in our living room. I don’t often put things on top of the piano — I am afraid of scratching it. So before adding the decor, I put down a table runner first. (At some point, I might glue some felt to the bottom of the planter.)

I really like how my new faux greenery looks in my home’s living room.

My friend Carrie of Curly Crafty Mom is also sharing her Commercial Silk review today! She received some beautiful potted faux grass and used the grass to decorate her beautiful entertainment unit in her family room. Stop by her blog to get a better view!

So pretty! I love how your box has some grasses that are shorter. I love the Valentine’s table! I also think it is wise to put a runner on top of the piano.
