As I write this post (at nearly 11:30 p.m.), the rest of my family is fast asleep. Whicn is odd — on a normal night, my husband stays up past midnight watching late-night news shows and his favorite flicks, while my kids wake up at least once or twice to extra get hugs and kisses before settling in for the night.
I should be checking in, too. I was so tired today — while waiting to see the doctor at a checkup, I was so exhausted that I felt like I was going to fall off the table! But I am just getting started, and have so much I want to do!
Something about a quiet house is so alluring to me. When the rest of the family is asleep, I love to check up other Mom blogs I love — sites like Thrifty Decor Chick and Naptime Decorator, peruse for gardening and decor ideas on Pinterest (you can check out my boards at http://pinterest.com/momhomeguide), watch some HGTV, catch up with friends on Facebook, or catch up on my reading. Of course, there’s usually a load of dishes or clothes to do, too. (I have some items in the dryer now.)
I guess it’s just this mom’s way of sneaking in some “me” time. I know there are moms who are smarter than I am and check in early regularly to get their beauty sleep, but I know there are other mom night owls out there, too! If you are a night owl, I’d love to hear from you!

I am totally with you! I stay up until 1 a.m. usually, last couple of nights actually closer to 2 a.m. to catch up on watching the Olympics, which I love. But it is killing me! I am so tired, too. I don’t get a lot done that late at night, sometimes folding laundry. There is always the dishwasher to load. I am just a night owl and prefer watching TV, reading or going online when the house is quiet and I won’t be disturbed. I just wish I could sleep later every morning!!

It looks like we are two of the same, Fran! I love staying up late at night to catch some TV and read (while usually waiting for loads of dishes and the laundry to be done), but I am always tired the next morning!
