With Halloween only a few weeks away, my blogging friends and I are getting together to share Halloween or pumpkin themed projects! I am sharing a cute and easy DIY Halloween shadow box. I made the box out of a wooden drawer organizer that I ordered that didn’t fit my drawer. I figured my DIY shadow box would be the perfect spot to display miniature Halloween figurines.
I am sharing my project as part of the Pinterest Challenge blog hop. The purpose of the Pinterest challenge is to motivate us to not just pin, but to make it happen! This pin inspired my DIY Halloween shadow box.
How to Make a DIY Halloween Shadow Box
To make my box, I spray painted my wooden drawer organizer black. I actually made this DIY shadow box last Halloween a day or two before Halloween, so I didn’t get any process photos. Sorry about that!
The bamboo drawer organizer I used was much like the Bamboo Expandable Drawer Organizer below – I simply removed the extra slide out parts of the organizer.
It was quick and easy to spray my drawer organizer black with my Rust-Oleum Black Spray Paint.
After the spray paint had dried, all that was left to do was decorate my new Halloween shadow box! I added some Halloween stickers, some black battery operated tea lights and some cute Halloween figures.
My new display box gave me an excuse to buy some cute Halloween figurines and stickers!
I’ve always loved fun Halloween miniatures and stickers.
Last year I displayed my new DIY Halloween shadow box on the console table in my living room. The shadow box looked great lit up by the Halloween tea lights!
I liked the Halloween shadow box so much that I made a Christmas shadow box last year, too.
If you like this project, be sure to pin it – maybe you can create your own Halloween shadow box this year!

Thanks, Joanne! I was happy to be able to put the organizer to use – it didn’t fit in my drawer! lol

Thanks. T’onna! I was glad I was able to find a way to epicycle the organizer, since I took too long to try it out after ordering it! I must have measured my drawer incorrectly when I thought the organizer would fit! lol
