K & Company Scrapbook Kit
K & Company Scrapbook Kit

I am a mom who treasures every moment I spend with my children. Because the moments I spend are so important to me, a big hobby of mine is scrapbooking. The past few years I have been into digital scrapbooking and photo books that I create online, but I just recently, I have picked up my scissors and scrapbooking tools again and have gotten back into traditional scrapbooking!

It’s been fun! The past few weeks I have been working on scrapbooking my family’s photos from this year. I started from January and have worked my way to September 2013 so far. I generally adhere a few photos to each page (most often 3-4 per page), add some embellishments like stickers or pretty photo mats, and write in some text to describe each photo. I have scrapbooked so many photos so far that I have to add in some more scrapbook pages!

 My Scrapbooking Faves

Fiskars Portable Photo Trimmer

I use my Fiskars photo trimmer often for cropping photos and for sizing decorative scrapbook paper and photo mats for my scrapbook pages. I like that the Fiskars photo trimmer is small and lightweight, so I can easily tote it with me when I join friends for our ladies’ night scrapbooking sessions!

Fiskars Photo Rounder

I love my Fiskars photo rounder. I like the way photos look when I use the photo rounder to clip harsh corners off the photos and photo mats that I use in my scrapbook. The Fiskars photo rounder is easy to use — just line your photo corner in the triangular photo corner slot on your photo rounder tool, squeeze the handles of the tool, and you have a nicely rounded corner.

Scotch Photo Splits

When adhering photos and paper embellishments to my scrapbook pages, I use Scotch Photo Splits. The splits dispense easily from their package, are respositionable, and adhere my photos and additions to my scrapbook pages quite well. I also like that the splits are economical — from my experience, they are cheaper to use than a traditional scrapbooking tape runner.

 4.5-Inch by 6.5-Inch Mat Stacks

I tend to keep my scrapbook page layouts simple, so I love backing my photos with 4.5-inch by 6.5-Inch scrapbook paper photo mats. The 4.5-inch by 6.5-inch mats fit perfectly behind my photos without any trimming. I purchase the stacks or pads of 4.5-inch by 6.5-inch scrapbook photo mats to add a splash of color to my scrapbook layouts without a lot of work. I just love all the beautiful polka dot, stripe and chevron prints that I have added to this year’s scrapbook!

Scrapbooking Letter Stickers

I frequently purchase sticker packs of scrapbook stickers to add words and titles to my scrapbook pages. The stickers add some color to my pages, and keep my pages free of my messy handwriting!

12x 12 Scrapbook Paper

I like to use 12 x 12 scrapbooks when I scrapbook. I also like to line my scrapbook pages with color, so I usually purchase stacks of non-patterned 12 x 12 paper in various colors to line my scrapbook pages. I like how the papers add a backdrop of color for my scrapbooks’ pages. The stack of paper above  is similar to what I have been using in this year’s scrapbook.
