Figuring out a healthy diet that’s delicious but won’t pack on the pounds can be really difficult. Now that summer is almost here, I really need to follow a sensible diet and shed some pounds. I think it will be easier for me now that I’ve been following “Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight” by Joel Marion.

Bestselling author Joel Marion is a fitness expert and nutritionist who has debunked the myths of traditional dieting and offers a simple, easy to follow weight loss program.
“Typical ‘dieting’ is perhaps one of the most frustrating practices that just about everyone has attempted at one point or another. It’s not fun, it gets old, and it rarely works,” Marion says. Marion set out to change this in his newest book.
Based on science, “Always Eat After 7” disproves popular diet myths and offers an easy-to-follow diet that quickens fat-burning, highlights the best foods for weight loss, and lets you enjoy your most intense food cravings.
“The Always Eat After 7” diet has three parts: The 14-day acceleration phase to help you begin losing pounds, the Main Phase, where you are shown what to eat and how to achieve your goals, and the Lifestyle Phase, where you are shown how to keep the weight off. A plus is that this diet is NOT about eating boring and tasteless chicken breast and bland vegetables. (Hooray!)
I love that the book includes many simple and delicious recipes (e.g,. like Thai Coconut Shrimp Soup and Chili Loaded Baked Potato – my favorites). I am looking forward to trying them all.
I like how the book very clearly lays out the steps necessary to lose the weight and keep it off. For example, in the Main Phase part of the book, Marion clearly lays out what meals should look like (in terms of proteins, carbohydrates and vegetables.) The book also clearly describes what a portion size is. E.g., for lunch, a woman like myself should look to have 4 ounces of protein (a palm-sized serving), 1 cup of super carbs (e.g., beans, lentils and carrots), 1 cup non-starchy veggies and 1 tablespoon friendly fat, oil or nut butter.
This book clearly shows me that my idea of “portion sizes” have been totally off!
A part of this diet is staying hydrated – I’ve learned through reading this book that I drink way less water than I should be. I think I tend to crave more calories when I’m drinking less water!
I am looking forward to following the guidelines I’ve learned in this book to find a healthier and skinnier me!
