How to Enjoy a Coffee Alone

written by Lauren Leave a Comment

A steaming cup of coffee on a wood table

There's something beautifully underrated about sitting down with a coffee alone. No meetings, no multitasking, no small talk. Just you, your cup of choice, and a little slice of calm. If you've ever felt awkward sitting in a cafe and sipping solo, or you weren't sure what to do with yourself while sipping a latte in peace, you're not alone.  A lot of people choose not to have coffee by themselves because they feel awkward about it. But maybe you should more often. I've put together a shortlist of how to truly enjoy a coffee alone without feeling out of place or constantly reaching for Continue reading...

A well organized garage with a work area and a cute gardening section.

This post contains Amazon affiliate links. A garage can be one of the most useful spaces in your entire home. Not only does it host and protect your vehicle, but it can be the exact space you need for your tools and for storing practical essentials, and can even be used as a workspace for handy tasks. However, many people—including myself!—tend to let their garages become a mess over the years, becoming a storage space for absolutely everything until their original intent disappears. Here, we'll look at how you can bring your garage back from the brink and make it the useful space that Continue reading...

Tips for the Recently Unemployed

written by Lauren

Follow these types if you've been laid off

Like many other people in the United States, I have been recently laid off. It happened about a month ago. I had started a normal Friday morning, and before I knew it, I was invited into a meeting with my direct supervisor and an HR representative. In a few minutes, my job as a content writer—one that I enjoyed and was very devoted to—was gone. At least, I consoled myself after the meeting, I didn't burst into tears immediately; instead I was steely and held myself together. (Yay, me!) Getting laid off can be difficult, and not just because you've lost a source of income. Losing a job can Continue reading...

Inexpensive Patio Pet Enclosure

written by Lauren

My dog fence works perfectly as a pet-safe patio enclosure.

This post contains Amazon affiliate links. This post was previously published on Mom Home Guide—I am sharing it again with new updates since it ranks among one of the best DIY projects that my husband and I have completed for our home! Today I'm sharing a project my husband and I completed—or, I should say, HE completed! When the weather gets nice, I like to spend a lot of time outside. The only problem I have is that our yard isn't fenced, and I have a 7-year-old Shih Tzu who wants to be with me all the time! Plus, he is not one to listen to commands, so having some kind of fencing is Continue reading...

Planting Spring Bulbs in Planters

written by Lauren

planting spring bulbs

Happy Sunday! I can't believe that Halloween and the end of October are almost here! This past weekend, I took some time to get some spring bulbs planted. Spring Bulbs in Planters Earlier this month, Longfield Gardens had a sale, so I purchased 100 tulip bulbs, 100 daffodil bulbs and 50 crocus corns in bulk. Yesterday, I decided to start planting them! That day, I nestled about half of the tulip and daffodils and all the crocus corns in 11 planters. Today, I hope to plant the rest in my front yard gardening bed. As you see in the below photo, the tulip and daffodil bulbs came in Continue reading...
