Monday Favorites (Easter Crafts)

written by Lauren

easter crafts

Hey, everyone! Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend! Today I am sharing my favorite projects that were shared at last Wednesday's A Little Bit of Everything Link Up Party. Easter is coming up soon, so I just adore the DIY Recycled Easter Bunny Vases by Weekend Craft! Her tutorial shows how you can turn any ordinary glass jar (in this  case, a jar for store bought salsa) into fun Easter decor! I also love the DIY decorative fabric pin board by Curly Craft Mom. My twin daughters' birthday is coming up soon, so maybe this is something I can make and customize for their rooms for Continue reading...

How to Season a Cast Iron Pan So It Won’t Stick

written by Lauren

how to season a cast iron pan

*This post contains Amazon affiliate links. My non-stick pan has become anything but non-stick recently, so I've decided to invest in a Le Creuset cast iron pan. I've been wanting to switch to a cast iron skillet because I worry about the chemicals that a non-stick pan may contain. But, as you may know, you have to "season" a cast iron pan before using it, otherwise everything will stick! So recently, I seasoned my cast iron pan! All it took were five easy steps to season my pan and ready it for use. Now my cast iron pan is just as good as any non-stick pan! Plus, it will likely last Continue reading...

My daughters really enjoy mozzarella sticks, so in the past, I've purchased frozen ones at the grocery store. Friday Favorites #FF

follow friday favorites #ff from Mom Home Guide

**This post contains affiliate links. If you click on an affiliate link and make a purchase, I earn a small commission to help keep this blog running. Thanks! The outdoor temperature reading on my car read 1 degree this morning-- that is way too cold for me! The frigid temperatures here in New Jersey mean that I haven't been venturing much from my house. I am a person who hates the cold! But staying inside more has given me more time to catch up with some of my favorite blogs! I adore this DIY color block painted door by DIY Showoff. I know my husband wouldn't want anything but white doors Continue reading...

how to make easy throw pillows

*This post contains affiliate links. When it comes to decorating my home, one thing I love to do is change the look of the throw pillows on my living room sofa. Making and decorating my own pillows is so simple and inexpensive, but it does so much to change up a room! The great thing is that I found a way to create fun custom throw pillows for the sofa without having to do much sewing! How to Organize Toys for Kids

written by Lauren

organize, toys, bookshelf, wire, bins

Today I'm off enjoying the weekend with my family, so I thought I'd share one of Mom Home Guide's oldies but goodies! A big problem most moms face is how to organize toys for my kids. It seems that these days, kids have way more toys than kids did when I was young. Or, maybe, my parents did a better job of organizing my and my sister’s toys when we were kids than I do organizing my kids’ toys. I just find it hard to organize toys! My daughters’ room doesn’t get cleaned as often as it should because it takes me over an hour just to clear all their toys off the floor and their beds before I Continue reading...

My Top Picks (Wednesday Linky Party Features)

written by Lauren

Wednesday Linky Party Favorites

Happy Monday! How is everything in your neck of the woods? Where I live, everyone is getting ready for lots and lots of SNOW!! We are talking a BLIZZARD here! So, before the storm arrives, I thought I'd take the time to share my favorites from the A Little Bit of Everything linky party, which I co-launched with some of my blogging friends last Wednesday. First up, I love the rainbow-striped wall that Carrie of Curly Crafty Mom painted for her daughter's room. She used a laser level to get the even stripes. BTW, did you know that a laser level actually sticks to the wall? I didn't know that! Continue reading...

Scary Toaster Oven Fire and How I Put Out the Flames

written by Lauren

toaster oven fire

My kids and I were having a normal Tuesday night yesterday when I decided to heat up a taco shell and have a second taco for dinner. I put the taco shell into my convection toaster oven, set the timer, and stepped away to my computer (just feet away) to reply to an email. Before I knew it, I smelled burning, and there was a fire raging in my toaster oven! That convection toaster oven has been burning things since the first day we owned it, but I never suspected that it could be such a fire hazard!   I should have known not to turn my back on that toaster oven! It's been nothing Continue reading...
