My daughters loved The Smurfs movie, so they can't wait to see The Smurfs 2 when it comes out in theaters July 31. In fact, we already have plans to see the movies with friends this Wednesday! So, when I was offered the chance to review the new The Smurfs 2 video game by Ubisoft, I jumped at the chance. Since we have a Wii console, I asked for the Wii version of the game (the game is also available for XBox 360, Playstation3, Nintendo DS, and Wii U). My kids wanted to play the new The Smurfs 2 video game as soon as I got it out of the box. After a brief read of the game's Continue reading...
Striped Chalkboard Paint Wall
This past spring, I created a fun hangout / study space / playroom for my kids in an upstairs hallway. The hallway used to have a big desk in it that nobody in my family was using and bare, white walls. So I decided to make the large hallway into a cool space my kids could use. A new feature of the wall is our a striped chalkboard paint wall. I painted a green accent wall, added a fun wall decal and added some beanbag chairs and a TV. Now, my daughters like to play and read on their Kindles and watch TV in the new hangout space / playroom. I also moved their Calico Continue reading...
Glam Party Room
The other day, my daughters went to a fun party with friends at a local place called Pinky Toes Party Palace in Robbinsville, NJ. At the party, they got manicures and pedicures, had a mini tea party (and learned some tea-time etiquette) and danced with their friends. The party place had the cutest decor! I loved the cute dining table that the party place set up for the kids (below). I thought the simple but cute covers on the chairs are adorable. I love the black painted walls up top and the cool flowers painted on the walls. The glamorous chandelier is also a fun Continue reading...
Lance Snacks for Summer Activities
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Lance for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. This month, my kids will go to a week of all-day summer camp. Since my daughters will be in camp from morning until late afternoon, I want to make sure that I pack them lunches and snacks that will keep them energized all day. I think the new Lance® Xtra Fulls™ Toastchee and Lance® Xtra Fulls™ Toasty peanut butter-filled crackers will be a great choice for their camp snacks. The snacks, with real peanut butter sandwiched between two crackers, are a wholesome treat that I can pack for Continue reading...
Patriotic Wreath Craft
My kids and I had some free time over the weekend, so we decided to do a fun patriotic wreath craft together to celebrate the upcoming Fourth of July holiday! We love to decorate our front door for the holidays throughout the year, so we needed a Fourth of July wreath. Since we don’t already have a red-white-and-blue wreath, we picked up some supplies from our local dollar store for out patriotic wreath craft project. For just $3.21 in supplies, I picked up: a grapevine wreath, a red and white polka dot gift-wrapping bow and a spool of red, white and blue ribbon. Fun Family Continue reading...

Homemade Chipwich Recipe
My twin daughters recently celebrated their birthday. For their birthday, I've done almost every kind of cake for them so far, so when I invited their grandfather and aunt over the other day for a mini birthday celebration, I decided to do something different -- "homemade" chipwiches! (You'll see why I put "homemade" in quotes later!) My semi homemade chipwich recipe is super easy! To make the chipwiches, I purchased M&M chocolate chip cookies from my local grocery store's bakery -- they are quite good! Normally, I would make my own cookies, but I was running short on time Continue reading...

Chicken Enchilada Casserole / Enter to Win $5,000
I just love casseroles – who wouldn’t? I am a big fan of cheese (which most casseroles include), and I adore the ease of making a casserole for dinner. All I have to do is assemble the ingredients, add them to my casserole dish, place it in the oven, and I am done! It’s also great that I can get a casserole started for dinner while my kids are in school. Easy Weeknight Dinner My kids like Mexican food like tacos, fajitas and enchiladas, so recently, I made them a chicken enchilada casserole for dinner. The meal is a cinch to prepare, and the best part about it is that the dish can be Continue reading...
The Pluses of Buying a New Home
When my husband and I were house hunting for a new home more than 10 years ago, I picked my town in part because I loved the beautiful historic and Victorian homes that line the streets. But despite all the beautiful older homes in my town, I knew I wanted to purchase a brand-new home. My husband and I aren't handy, so I knew that purchasing a charming vintage home that may require updating and some fixes would be quite expensive for us -- everytime something broke or when we wanted to add our own touches to the home, we would have to pay a contractor to do the work for us. Plus, it is Continue reading...
