Change-It-Up Summer Wreath

written by Lauren

chnage-it-up seasonal summer burlap wreath with sunflowers

I adore crafting wreaths. Unfortunately, though, my handmade wreaths are stacking up in my storage area! So, for my summer wreath, I decided to create a non-permanent wreath that can easily be changed out as the seasons change – so there’s no need to create an entirely new wreath when I want a new look! I got the idea for my summer wreath from Celeste of Decor by the Seashore. Using a wreath form and floral wire, she created a wreath that she can modify as the seasons change. I think her idea is genius! (Check out her blog for her tutorial how to create her interchangeable Continue reading...

Chalk-Painted Piano Bench for Front Door Mud Room Area

written by Lauren

chalk painted and stenciled bench

Thanks to Chalkworthy by providing the paint and supplies for this post. All opinions expressed in this post are honest and 100% my own. My family has been needing a place to sit by our home's front door. We have a small mud room area next to our home's front entrance, where we remove our shoes before coming into the house. Not wearing shoes in our house helps keep the carpeting and the house much cleaner! So, I recently chalk painted and stenciled an old piano bench so we have a pretty place to sit! My family and I used to own a piano called an Acrosonic. The piano was great Continue reading...

New Living Room Decor

written by Lauren

Fun items for a bright and sunny living room

Thanks to Lamps Plus and Paint-A-Pillow for sponsoring this post. I received free product in exchange for my honest review, and all opinions expressed in this post are my own. Just last month, I completed a big curb appeal project, in which I add style and function to a front garden area by building a DIY cinder block and wood bench and adding beautiful container gardens. My living room looks out onto that beautiful new space, so I decided that my home's living room could use a makeover, too. The below photo shows my lovely new garden area. It rained shortly after I added my pillows Continue reading...

Four Easy Wooden Crate Projects

written by Lauren

Easy DIY projects with wood crates -- wood crates are inexpensive and very versatile in the home

Thanks to Thompson’s Waterseal Waterproofing Stain for sponsoring this post by providing the waterproof stain used on my new bench and crate table. All opinions expressed in this post are 100% my own. I've been obsessed with wood crates recently. They are sturdy, inexpensive, and can serve multiple purposes in the home. I started out by using wood crates to create much needed shelving in a coat-closet-turned pantry. I've discovered that by simply screwing a few crates together with some wood screws and a screwdriver, I could put together functional and really sturdy shelving in a Continue reading...

May Goals

written by Lauren

May Goals -- I like to set smaller monthly goals that are easier to accomplish in a month.

Today I am joining my friend, Carrie of Curly Crafty Mom, in sharing my personal goals for May. I think setting monthly goals is a great exercise for getting things done! 1. Clean and Beautify Backyard. I have been all about cleaning and organizing my home lately. So, one of my May goals is to clean up and improve the backyard, so my family and I can enjoy our yard this coming spring and summer! I got a start on that goal last week -- I filled five trash bins with twigs and branches from our backyard and scheduled a yard waste pickup with my town. I don't think my husband and I have Continue reading...

All opinions expressed in this post is 100% my own. So far, 2016 has been all about organizing at my house! My biggest organizing accomplishment by far this year has been my home's new pantry! The pantry is only a few feet off the kitchen and used to be an unorganized and little used coat closet. Now, the space is one of the most organized and useful spots in the house! DIY Garden Markers

I love the look of this DIY basil herb garden marker

This post contains Amazon affiliate links. If you click on a link and make a purchase, I earn a small commission to help fund this blog. Thanks! Now that spring is here, I can't wait to start gardening! I've already started some seeds indoors for garden herbs, so I decided to make some quick DIY herb garden markers! For my stakes for my herb garden markers, I used wood chopsticks! There are always a lot of chopsticks in my house -- I don't know what to do with them all! I am glad that I found a purpose for at least some of them! I only needed just a few supplies for my Continue reading...
