**Editor's Note: The full tutorial for this project will go live on Thursday, October 2, on Ask Anna. Hello! This week I am guest posting at Ask Anna! Every first Thursday of the month I post at Ask Anna and share my decorating tips! Today I am sharing how I updated my sofa's throw pillows for fall with simple burlap ribbon! The project was really quite easy (and less expensive than getting new pillows or making new pillow covers). I think my new burlap-wrapped pillows give my living room sofa a great updated fall look! So be sure to stop by Ask Anna for the tutorial on how to make Continue reading...

Check back on Thursday for a really easy (but beautiful) way to add a touch of fall to your home as I guest post for blog, Ask Anna! Last year I decorated my fall mantle with mason jar candles and a simple burlap decorative craft. (Click on the photos to see each craft in detail!) I also Continue reading...
#ShareAwesome: Sharing Digital Content Safely
As my twin tweens entered middle school this fall, my husband and I gave them their own cell phones. It's an exciting time for my kids as they broaden their horizons by communicating more freely with their friends by texting and sharing digital media on apps like Instagram. That's why I am participating in the #ShareAwesome digital advocacy campaign, sponsored by National PTA and LifeLock. The campaign's focus is to encourage an open and dynamic conversation between kids and adults about ways to share fun digital content in a safe and positive way. My kids really like expressing themselves Continue reading...

Hi, everyone! Now that the new school year has started, I have been making a concentrated effort to keep my life and home more organized. Part of that effort includes making my own free printables for myself and to share -- I've been finding if I don't have my to-lists and chores on paper, I tend to forget them! LOL. I recently made a free printable colorful chore chart for my tweens. My tween daughters just got their own rooms, and now that they have their own rooms, they have taken a bigger interest in keeping their rooms neat and clean! (Look for the room reveals on this blog soon!) My daughters even want to put their own laundry away! Since they have been asking for an allowance, I thought I could come up with a free printable chore chart to help them earn some cash. Early Morning Routine for a Night Owl
This post is sponsored by Cottonelle. I bet this sounds like a lot of moms' early morning routines. Your morning schedule starts early, so you get dressed in 10 minutes or less and throw on sweats before seeing your kids off to school. That's my routine this year! My husband and I are night owls, and I get up at 6 a.m. to make breakfast and help my kids out the door, so I've been very sleep deprived! So, I've developed a quick routine to make myself presentable enough to walk my kids to the bus stop. Now, I don't actually have to walk them to the bus stop (none of the other Continue reading...
Back to School Mud Room Area
With fall and winter upon us, and the school year into full gear, having a family mud room is essential. I know one is needed in my house! We need a place to hang our coats and drop off our sometimes wet and muddy shoes. My home isn't very large, and we don't have a coat closet by the front door, so we have created a "mud room" out of a small space. This is what I have found helpful to have in our "mud room" space: 1. Easy-to-Clean Floors: Tile flooring is great for a mud room floor, since it's easy to clean and durable. My mud room area just inside my home's front door Continue reading...
Marker Roll Up Tutorial & Teacher Gift
This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Office Depot, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #inspirestudents http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV My kids moved up to middle school this year, which means buying a lot more school supplies! My daughters and I visited our local Office Depot and stocked up on everything we needed before school started. I picked up some Sharpies, Papermate pens and scented Mr. Sketch markers. The pens, Sharpies and markers will be great for a back-to-school teacher gift! I know teachers have to cart a lot of Continue reading...
