Now that December is here, my kids absolutely cannot wait for Christmas! So, I came up with the idea of creating cute numbered advent calendar boxes -- my kids can open one up each day as we count down to Christmas. Yesterday, I created a few advent calendar boxes, for 23, 22, 21, 20 and 19 days until Christmas. I'll eventually add the other boxes as we get closer to Christmas! In each box, I nestled yummy treats, stickers, and other fun finds. They opened the 23 days until Christmas box yesterday to find a large piece of bubble gum each. They were happy to get the gum! I got my Continue reading...

Christmas Decorating
My Recollections ornament boxes makes unpacking the Christmas ornaments so much easier. It snowed here in New Jersey yesterday. My daughters were so excited! I am trying to wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas, but I know at least one of my daughters would like to start decorating for the Christmas holiday NOW! Especially since the snow has put them both in the holiday spirit -- one of my daughters has been wearing a Santa's hat to bed every night already! Christmas Organization Thanks to some organizing I did just after last Christmas, Continue reading...
Thankful Banner – Giving Thanks
As busy moms, we can sometimes forget to take the time to think just how much we have to be thankful for. We get so wrapped up in our families' busy schedules, that we don't take a moment to step back and look at the big picture. So, as Thanksgiving nears, I wanted to start a project for my family that will not only add some fun holiday color to our home, but will help us to realize how lucky we are to have each other, our home, our kids' school, our community, and more. Thanksgiving Thankful Banner I've seen Thanksgiving thankful banners on Continue reading...
Essential Scrapbook Supplies
I am a mom who treasures every moment I spend with my children. Because the moments I spend are so important to me, a big hobby of mine is scrapbooking. The past few years I have been into digital scrapbooking and photo books that I create online, but I just recently, I have picked up my scissors and scrapbooking tools again and have gotten back into traditional scrapbooking! It's been fun! The past few weeks I have been working on scrapbooking my family's photos from this year. I started from January and have worked my way to September 2013 so far. I generally adhere a few Continue reading...
Caramel Macchiato Tea
I am loving fall this year! The colors and the warmer than usual temperatures have been perfect this season. One thing I love to do in the fall is enjoy a warm beverage when I take in the fall scenery, whether it is during a hike through the woods or while sitting in my home's bay window enjoying a good book. So, when Coffee-Mate offered the opportunity to try out their new seasonal flavors, I jumped at the chance! Among Coffee Mates new seasonal flavors are Dark Chocolate Fudge, Peppermint Mocha and Eggnog Latte. Yum! I can't wait to try those out! Fall Tea Break This morning, I had Continue reading...
#BugOut Moments with Orkin
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Orkin Ecologist for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. This fall has been a buggy one in my home. In the past three months alone, my daughters and I have had several #BugOut moments. You know, the kind of moment when you see some kind of unwanted creepy, crawly critter in your house and scream! We discovered at least 5 spiders in our house! Yuck! The spiders we found weren’t tiny harmless ones, either. At least 3 of them were super dark and big! So scary! There is definitely some arachnophobia in my house! I don't know if the Continue reading...
Rainbow Loom Organization
The rainbow loom craze has hit my home! I love that my daughters are having so much fun crafting their rainbow loom bracelets, but I soon discovered that we seriously needed something to organize all of my children's rainbow loom supplies! We used to keep my kids' rainbow loom rubber bands in one big plastic takeout container, but that system didn't work too well. All of my kids' different rubber band colors were all jumbled together in that container, so sorting out the colors that they needed was a long process for my kids! Rainbow Loom Rubber Bands Organized I found the Continue reading...
Quick and Healthy School Lunches
I make my kids' school lunches daily, and it's not uncommon for me to be up until 11 p.m. or later making my kids' meals for the next school day. But I just saw some great tips by online that will make packing my kids' school lunches a breeze! To pack lunches quickly and easily, all I need to do is place a protein (yogurt or cheese, hummus, or cubes of chicken, etc.), fruit, and veggies that are washed and ready to go in small containers for my fridge. I also can assemble small snack containers (with pretzels, Goldfish, etc.) that my kids can choose. In the morning, all they need to do is Continue reading...
Halloween Boo Grams
It’s that season again – it’s almost time to “boo” the neighbors! We started a little Halloween tradition two years ago in our neighborhood where kids and families take turns “booing” each other, secretly leaving fun packages of treats, toys and goodies and a Halloween boo gram (a cute Halloween note) by a neighbor’s door. I've also created some free boo grams to share! My family is to the tradition, but Halloween "booing" and boo grams are popular in many neighborhoods across the country. Booing the neighbors is sort of like “Secret Santa,” where the gift Continue reading...
