How to hang mini dollar store wreaths on kitchen cabinets for Christmas

I like decorating my home for Christmas, but I usually don't want to spend a lot of money doing so. So today I'm happy to be joining my blogging friends for the Dollar Store Craft Challenge | Christmas Edition. I've always liked the look of mini Christmas wreaths on kitchen cabinets, so I decided to make that my project for this challenge. Be sure to check out the links at the bottom of this post to see all of my friends' projects!!    This is a very "light" craft project for me. In the rush of the season, I almost forgot that this blog hop is today! But luckily, it's a snap to Continue reading...

All opinions are mine alone. #StartWithSmithfield #CollectiveBias Now that my daughters are in high school, our mornings are hectic. To get out the door on time, they need to eat breakfast before 6:30 a.m. My husband has to leave for work early, too. I do what I can to get everyone out the door on time. If your family is like mine, you know it can be tough to get everyone to sit down for breakfast. I’ve found a few ways to make our mornings run smoothly. Saturday Road Trip My twin teen daughters, husband and I had a fun mini road trip with our puppy Mochi last weekend. We first hit a local hot dog/hamburger stand for lunch. We then went to Halo Pub, an ice cream place that sells homemade ice cream. Our puppy turned 5 months old over the weekend, so we gave him his first taste of ice cream! He got his own cup of vanilla ice cream and loved it! Afterwards we went to Sayen Continue reading...

Planning a Kitchen Remodel

written by Lauren

oak kitchen cabinets painted white with General Finishes Antique White milk paint

If you've been following this blog, you probably know that I've taken steps to update the look of my home's kitchen. I've repainted most of the oak cabinets white. (I just have a few more to paint.) I've purchased some new cabinet hardware to install. I've made small changes like organizing drawers and installing inexpensive tile under the kitchen sink. I'd love to change out the flooring and the counter, too. A good blogging friend of mine is doing a complete kitchen remodel -- I have to admit I'm a bit jealous! If you are considering a DIY kitchen remodel or if you are thinking of having Continue reading...

Easy Projects to Organize Your Home

written by Lauren

Easily convert a coat closet into a cute pantry by screwing some inexpensive wooden crates together

This post contains affiliate links. Now that the new year is into full swing, I thought I'd review some of the organizing projects I've completed in my house. It's been a few months since I've organized many of the places I use for storage in my home, so I thought I'd think about the organizing I've done so far and see what I can do to add more storage and reorganize any messes that might have popped up since my original projects. Now that I'm reviewing some of my previous projects, it gets me thinking that I'd love to organize my master bedroom closet with a beautiful closet organization Continue reading...

A Christmas table with silver reindeer, a burlap table runner, white lanterns and a lighted marquee joy sign

This post was sponsored by Oriental Trading, which provided me with the decor for my kitchen table. This weekend, I went on a Christmas home tour in my town with two neighbors/friends. My town is filled with beautiful old Victorians, craftsman-style and Greek Revival homes, etc. On the tour I got to see a handful of homes beautifully decorated for the holidays, and it got me in the Christmas spirit! So I am happy to share today how I decorated my kitchen's farmhouse dining table for Christmas! Almost all of the items I used to decorate my Christmas table with are from Oriental Trading. I Continue reading...

Fun Fall Decorating Ideas

fall decorating ideas

Thanks to Oriental Trading for providing me with the Thanksgiving pumpkins shared in this post. I was provided free decor items in exchange for my honest review. Earlier this week, I've shared some of the ways I've decorated my home for fall this year and previous years. I do a lot of decorating, so I still have a lot of fall decor ideas to share! I thought I'd share more of the ways I've decorated my home for fall this year and other years. One of the first and easiest wreaths I've made is my fall grapevine wreath. I simply wrapped a chevron ribbon around a grapevine wreath to create Continue reading...
