If you click on an Amazon link and make a purchase, I will earn a small commission. Thanks! Now that spring is here, I have been looking for more ways for my kids to spend active time outside. Ninety-two percent of Americans want their kids to put down their devices and spend active play time outdoors, according to TruGreen. And 60 percent of Amercans say their yard is their favorite place to Continue reading...
Monday Favorites (April 27) – Link Up Party Picks
Happy Monday, everyone! Today is a fun day because today is a day where I showcase projects from other bloggers that were shared at last Wednesday's A Little Bit of Everything Link Up party! The party, held every Wednesday here on Mom Home Guide, is an opportunity for bloggers to share their recent crafts, recipes and projects. I will be hosting some parties this spring and summer, so I was glad to see Carrie of Curly Crafty Mom's recipe for Mint Julep! Carrie is a great blogging friend and her blog is a fun collection of recipes, fashion tips and DIY projects! She has a new series Continue reading...
How to Protect Annuals from Frost
Hi, everyone! I just finished extending my home's front flower bed. In the bed, I planted some pretty spring and summer annuals. I also spread mulch over the sunny perennial garden flower bed that extends along the southern side of my home. I spent more than 6 hours shoveling and spreading mulch! So you can imagine my dismay when I discovered that in the next few days, my area is expected to have flower-killing frost! I spent at least $30 in my annuals and don't want to see that money go to waste! So to protect my flowers, I am following these tips on how to protect annuals from Continue reading...
Free Kids Meal from Olive Garden
Tomorrow is Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, and to honor that special day, Olive Garden and The Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Foundation are partnering up to help parents make the most out of the day for their kids. For those who come to Olive Garden tomorrow (April 23), a free kid's meal will be provided for every adult meal purchased. That is great! I LOVE Olive Garden, and especially adore their breadsticks and salads! Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, on April 23, is an opportunity for parents to bond with their children and inspire them to think about their Continue reading...

Monday Favorites (April 20) Link Up Party Picks
It was so beautiful outside yesterday! I spent much of the day doing outdoor tasks -- weeding, cleaning and sweeping the patio and clearing out old sunflower and lily stalks from my perennial garden. I didn't realize how much effort I spent, because I am really wiped out! So today, I am going to sit back, relax, and share the work of some of my favorite blogger contributions to last week's A Little Bit of Everything Link Up Party! I really like the recipe for Buffalo Chicken Crackers from Must Have Mom. I plan to host a few spring/summer parties this year, so I will have to put these on Continue reading...
The Selection – A Great Read for Moms and Tweens
*This post contains Amazon affiliate links. My tween daughters and I are HUGE readers. We read just about anything we can get our hands on, and are big fans of young adult (YA) fiction. My tweens are great about sharing what they are reading with me, so I can't wait to share my latest read, The Selection Series by New York Times bestseller, Kiera Cass, with them! At first, I wasn't sure if I was going to like The Selection, since it's based on a contest to win the love of the prince of Illéa, a post-war American nation. The first book in The Selection series centers on the growing Continue reading...
Enjoying Fragrance with The Caress Forever Collection
* This post was sponsored by The Caress Forever Collection. I received free product and a promotional item to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% my own. I love the scent of perfume, but often find that wearing straight perfume is too strong for me. Instead, I prefer to use scented body washes. One new body wash that I love is The Caress Forever Collection. The Caress Forever Collection is the world’s first body wash with Fragrance Touch Technology. Caress Fragrance Release Pearls™ release bursts of perfume with every touch of the skin. Created by award-winning perfumer Loc Dong Continue reading...

#Swifferdads: Cleaning with Swiffer Wet Jet
Two Big Green Boxes arrived at my home recently, and my kids were super excited! They've seen commercials on TV that feature the Swiffer Big Green Boxes (I love those commercials!), so they couldn't wait until the boxes arrived at our home! We received the Big Green Boxes as part of the #SwifferDad campaign. Swiffer is great for my husband -- he is much neater than I am and loves the simplicity and effectiveness of the Swiffer Wet Jet mops. We decided to give our other Big Green Box to our neighbor, Tyson. He works as a home inspector and understands the importance of keeping a Continue reading...
