Bowling and Nachos: #PEPCIDTastemakers

written by Lauren

I have received product and compensation for this sponsored post for Mom It Forward. All opinions expressed in this post are completely my own. Heartburn is something I never expected to experience. But heartburn struck often when I was pregnant with my twins. Heartburn can happen in pregnancy, but perhaps more often in moms-to-be of multiples! When pregnant, I sometimes got burning feelings in my chest, especially after I enjoyed one of my biggest pregnancy cravings: loaded baked potatoes! The loaded baked potatoes came from a local fast food restaurant and were covered with sour Continue reading...

Easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Chipwich Recipe

written by Lauren

ice cream, chocolate chip, cookie,chipwich

Editor's Note: With my kids' elementary school graduation and dance and piano recitals coming up, this week is going to be busy! So today, I am re-sharing a favorite recipe of mine -- semi-homemade chocolate chip cookie chipwiches! (I say semi-homemade because the ice cream is store bought.) I served these last year for my daughters' 10th birthday, and the chipwiches were a hit! My twin daughters recently celebrated their birthday. For their birthday, I've done almost every kind of cake for them so far, so when I invited their grandfather and aunt over the other day for a mini birthday Continue reading...

Fresh Brummel & Brown Herb Spread

written by Lauren

brummel. brown, herb spread

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Brummel & Brown. I was recently offered the opportunity to try out Brummel & Brown spread, a creamy buttery spread made with non-fat yogurt. I was happy to give the spread a try, since I am always looking for healthy snack options for my kids -- now that my daughters are entering their tween years, they are hungry when they get home from school! My daughters love to snack on crackers and bread with fruit, so the Brummel & Brown spread is a good option for us. Healthy & Tasty Spread What I like about the Brummel Continue reading...

Snickers Bars

written by Lauren

snickers, oreo, cheesecake, recipe

Several of my blogger friends and I will be posting recipes this week for treats and desserts that we made with ingredients available at the dollar store. My local dollar store always has lots of Oreo cookies and Snickers candy bars on hand, so I decided to try out a Snickers and Oreo cheesecake recipe from Domestic Superhero from that I found on Pinterest. The rest of the recipe includes ingredients that I normally have stored in my fridge or my pantry. I just made one alteration to the recipe -- instead of topping my Snickers cheesecake bars with chocolate chips, Continue reading...

Holiday Baking Learn and Conserve Challenge #2

written by Lauren

black, decker, toaster oven, convection

As you might know, I am participating in the Learn and Conserve Challenge friendly competition with several other local bloggers. My first post for this series was on winterizing the home to save energy – and cash – over the winter months. Thanks to NRG Residential Solutions, I’ve learned that winterizing the home doesn’t have to be difficult or cost a lot of money! Now that NRG’s Ambassadors are on our second challenge, we have the task of cooking without our ovens and microwaves as much as we can for the next two weeks. This is a tough challenge, as it falls right in the holiday baking Continue reading...

Crafty Wine Glass Charms

written by Lauren

DIY, craft wine glass charms

I love wine glass charms -- they add a little whimsy to a party or a moms' night out, and they make it so much easier to distinguish whose glass is whose (especially after a few glasses have been poured and enjoyed). But, wine glass charms can be pricey -- "Ladies Night Wine Class Charms" from Wine Enthusiast sell for $24.95 -- plus, it can be difficult to find charms I like. So, when I saw some cute and simple charms in the jewelry section at my local craft store at the low price of $2.50 for 6, I scooped them up. I also then bought some earring hoops/findings (with rhinestone accents) Continue reading...

Caramel Macchiato Tea

written by Lauren

coffee mate caramel macchiato tea

I am loving fall this year! The colors and the warmer than usual temperatures have been perfect this season. One thing I love to do in the fall is enjoy a warm beverage when I take in the fall scenery, whether it is during a hike through the woods or while sitting in my home's bay window enjoying a good book. So, when Coffee-Mate offered the opportunity to try out their new seasonal flavors, I jumped at the chance! Among Coffee Mates new seasonal flavors are Dark Chocolate Fudge, Peppermint Mocha and Eggnog Latte. Yum! I can't wait to try those out! Fall Tea Break This morning, I had Continue reading...
