Last year was a busy year! I started this website, and thankfully, at least a few people have read it! Thanks everyone for your visits! It's been a fun year. For all you new readers out there, I thought I'd post some of the most-read posts from 2012 -- enjoy! Since spring is approaching, I thought I share how I put my bacyard's two raised garden bed together! It was easier than I thought it would be! Last spring, one of the best things my daughters and I did together was designate an area of our yard for a raised garden bed, and start a flower and vegetable garden. We started small and Continue reading...

Where I Party — Linky Parties
Today, I will be hitting a few mom blog linky parties, where I like to share my projects, and look at other great projects from other bloggers. One place where I am sure to stop by today is Home Stories A to Z. This mom blogger hosts a tutorials and tips party every Monday. It's a fun place to find fun crafts to do with your kids or to find decor projects you can do for your home. I also plan to stop by Not Just a Housewife, where she is hosting her "Show Me What Ya Got" party on her mom blog -- there are already a lot of great home decor and organization projects Continue reading...
Mod Podged Craft Letter
Over the weekend, I finally got around to Mod Podging my craft letter. I've always liked large crafty letters, so I though I would make one of my own. The project was really easy -- I just traced the craft letter (backwards) on the back of some pretty green striped scrapbook paper I found at the craft store. Using a paint brush, I painted Mod Podge onto the top of my craft letter, and applied the scrapbook paper on top. To give the craft letter some shine, I painted some Mod Podge on top. I also added some scrapbook stickers on top for decoration. I was going to place the Continue reading...
Spice Up Your Pot Roast
I've been wanting to spice up my pot roast for a while now. I make a pot roast at least twice a month -- it is easy, tasty and my family loves it. I like to make it in the slow cooker, since all I have to do is throw the ingredients in, turn on the slow cooker, and I have a delicious meal ready for my family a few hours later! But, I've been a bit disappointed with how bland my pot roasts have been. My husband tends to like spicer foods, and following in their daddy's shoes, my kids tend to like more flavorful foods, too. So, I've been looking for new pot roast recipes, but most have very Continue reading...
Craft Sneak Peak: Mod Podge Letter
Hi! How is everyone's week going? This week is a hard week to get some blogging in -- what with the school holiday this past Monday, a school half day today and a lunch date that I have with my dad and aunt later this week, it's hard to fit in writing and project time! So, I'd thought that I'd give you all a sneak peak at my next project -- I hope to have some photos of the completed project up on the blog on Friday. Mod Podge Craft Letter I've always liked the look of monograms and initials, so when I was at the craft store last week, I picked up a big wooden "K," to Continue reading...
Pink, Gray and Blue Palette
The other day, I wrote about a blue and yellow paint color scheme that I am thinking of using for my home office. I have been considering the paint color scheme, since while the room is currently my office, I figure that in a few years, when my kids hit their tween years, they will no longer want to share a bedroom, and I will have to give up that space. One of my daughters loves blue, so I thought the space might make a good room for her, should I go with the blue and yellow color scheme. But there is a problem with that plan -- the room comes with a walk-in closet, while the other Continue reading...
Pampered Chef Molten Lava Cake
For a Valentine's Day treat for my family, I decided to break out my new Pampered Chef Covered Baker and make a quick chocolate molten lava cake. The recipe was so easy - all I had to do was follow the directions on my chocolate cake mix (add eggs, oil and water to the cake mix and stir) and then add the cake batter to my Covered Baker. I then used about half a container of store-bought chocolate icing and placed spoonfuls of the icing on top of my cake batter. I covered my Pampered Chef covered baker, stuck it in the microwave, and microwaved it for 10 Continue reading...
Yellow and Blue Inspiration Board
Now that I've completed painting the owl and tree mural feature wall for my kids' new study and media space, I've been dreaming about organizing and painting my home office. Right now, the office has boxes everywhere (of things I need to file) and features plain, unpainted white walls. So boring! I thought something bright and cheery would be great for the office, and have been thinking that the room would look quite nice in a combination of yellows and blues. Most of my home is very neutral with soft greens and yellowy beiges, so I thought that something more colorful would be Continue reading...
Unfinished Basement Playroom Ideas
Last year was a busy year! I started this website, and thankfully, at least a few people have read it! Thanks everyone for your visits! It's been a fun year. For all you new readers out there, I thought I'd post some of the most-read posts from 2012 -- enjoy! And, if you are wondering, I have created an unfinished basement playroom space for my kids, but it's nowhere near as nice as I'd like it to be. I haven't painted the walls or stained the floors in the unfinished basement playroom space, and there is still a lot of organizing to be done! I will have to keep working on creating a fun Continue reading...
