I just adore designer David Bromstad from HGTV's Color Splash. I love the way he adds beautiful and bold colors to all his Miami makeovers! I wish I could be that bold! He's also a fun and talented artist, which is evident in the limited edition coffee creamer bottles (French Vanilla and Hazelnut flavors) that he designed for Coffee-Mate, which are available exclusively in Target stores nationwide. I recently picked up a David Bromstad Coffee-mate bottle of Hazelnut and a David Bromstad Coffee-Mate bottle of French Vanilla at my local Target. I have been using my new David Bromstad Continue reading...

Summer Flowers: Black Eyed Susans
I started my sunny perennial garden last summer knowing that while I am not that much of a gardener, I just love flowers! Luckily, I planted pretty foolproof flowers like lilies, phlox and black eyed susans (Rudbeckia hirta). So this summer, I am the lucky owner of a beautiful flower garden! The best bloomers in my garden are my black-eyed susans. I planted them last summer -- they came from a free packet of seeds I got from Burt's Bees. I had no idea what would bloom from those seeds, but just crossed my fingers and planted them! Last summer they just looked like weeds with no blooms, but Continue reading...
Scrapbook Paper Art Gallery Wall
*This post contains Amazon.com affiliate links. I am going to the Haven Conference this week, so I have been very busy packing and getting ready! But before I leave for the conference, I want to share with you what I did with the framed scrapbook art I created – I made a new gallery wall for my newly furnished living room! I'd love to show you how to create your own gallery wall! I just love how my new living room came out! The room used to be pretty much empty and only housed a piano and two toy chests. Now, it's a spot where my daughters and I like to sit and read, or look out the Continue reading...
Summer Patio: Hot Shot Insecticides
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hot Shot® Insecticides. I love summer, but I don't like the increase of bugs and insects it brings to my home! It's as if summer signals vacation time to the critters, and my house is their vacation home! So, when I was offered the chance to try out Hot Shot® insecticides, I jumped at the chance! I don't want those pests to make my patio their home sweet home! My husband and I put in a really great paver patio a few years ago. It's a wonderful place for our wrought iron patio set and for our new Weber gas grill -- I am becoming a bit of a Continue reading...

Mom Home Guide House Tour
*This post contains affiliate links. I just love looking at online house tours of other mom bloggers’ homes. To me, my home is a work in progress. Over the past few months, I’ve completed a few home improvements, like decorating and furnishing my home's living room, making my home’s mudroom/foyer area more functional, creating a fun study/media/play space for the kids and adding more privacy to my home’s backyard. There are several more projects I’d like to complete — some of the wishes on my wish list include hardwood flooring and making our unfinished basement more livable, but I am not Continue reading...

Many of these projects are on my to-do list for this year: I really need to paint the Adirondack chairs and I have to plant my flower tower for this summer! I am a HUGE fan of Sarah, who runs the Thrifty Decor Chick mom / home decor blog. I want to ready my outdoor spaces for summer entertaining, so I decided to check out her blog, Thrifty Decor Chick. Sarah has an incredible eye for design and is a fantastic DIYer! Plus, her home is beautiful! Continue reading...

You’ll Never See Me Post About…
As a blogger, I share much of my life online. Readers of Mom Home Guide see everything from how I recently decorated and furnished my living room, what I’ve recently planted in the garden and my latest DIY projects, like the throw pillows I made for my home’s new sofa. There are things you’ll likely never see me post about online, however! There are reasons why I’m a home décor/DIY blogger and not a family/parenting blogger. A main reason is that I’m obsessed with decorating and improving my home. Part of the reason is that blogging is my choice, not my family’s. I’m open to sharing my Continue reading...
