I love gardening, and do fairly well at it, but for reasons I don't full understand, I'm not the best houseplant owner! Over the years, however, I've discovered (by trial and error) a few kinds of houseplants that can take even the abuse I tend to dish out to my poor houseplants! Snake Plant This hardy succulent (sansevieria trifasciata) can take neglect! (Perfect for a negligent houseplant owner like me!) The snake plant prefers dry air and dry soil. The plant produces sword-like stems and can produce green, fragrant flowers in bright light. Snake plants can be 6- to 48-inches Continue reading...
My June Garden
It's been a bit dreary and rainy here in New Jersey, but that's been great for my garden! My front garden roses bushes have been blooming, and many of the annuals that I planted for summer have been looking great! My June gardens are thriving! Roses like a lot of water, so the rain has been great for them! In past summers, I've always wondered why my roses weren't blooming much, but that's because I wasn't watering them enough! LOL! I have to remember how well the roses have been doing during these past few rainy days here in Central New Jersey! [tweetthis]Come see this beautiful spring Continue reading...

How to Protect Annuals from Frost
Hi, everyone! I just finished extending my home's front flower bed. In the bed, I planted some pretty spring and summer annuals. I spent at least $30 in my annuals and don't want to see that money go to waste! So to protect my flowers, I am following these tips on how to protect annuals from Continue reading...
