Five Places You Forget to Vacuum

written by Lauren

bissell, vacuum, stairs

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of BISSELL Homecare, Inc. for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. My home is filled with wall-to-wall carpeting, which means that I do a lot of vacuuming. I try to vacuum frequently to keep my house clean, but I have to admit there are a few spots that I overlook! BISSELL’S PowerGlide® with Lift-Off® Technology Vacuum The areas I forget to vacuum are those out-of-the-way or hard to reach spots, so I am very intrigued by BISSELL’S new PowerGlide® with Lift-Off® Technology vacuum. This powerful, yet light vacuum has a Continue reading...

Storage for Kids Rooms

written by Lauren

This post contains Amazon affilate links. Finding enough storage in children’s bedrooms can be tough, but if you buy furniture and accessories with storage in mind, you should be able to find plenty of storage for kids rooms. My daughters, used to enjoy sharing a room together. (They have since gotten their own rooms.) So, when I chose the children's furniture for their room, I chose children's furniture that would give us the most space as possible for storing their things. Their room is fairly large, but not that big, considering that we must fit two twin beds in there, a dresser, Continue reading...

Chain Link Fence Privacy Solutions

written by Lauren

how to get patio privacy

For homeowners whose backyard backs to a chain link fence, lack of privacy can be an issue. Finding ways to create privacy for a chain link fence can be difficult. [tweetthis]How to create privacy for a #backyard chain link fence![/tweetthis] Such is the case with my home's backyard, which has a schoolyard behind it. The school's chain link fence separates the school playground from my home's backyard. The playground is filled during the day and some afternoons with children who are very curious about my activities should I venture into the backyard when the schoolyard is filled. A New Betta Fish

written by Lauren

how to care for a betta fish

For the past two years, I’ve been unhappily cleaning the goldfish bowl for my daughters’ two goldfish, Rocky and Swimmy. I hate the job, but since the fish are the only pets my kids have (both my husband and I have allergies) I grudgingly do it. The other day, I upgraded the fishes’ bowl to a more sophisticated mini aquarium. The aquarium doesn’t have a filter (alas – I wish it did, to spare me some cleaning), but it is equipped with a light and a pump. Since the pump pushes extra air into the tank, I figured that we could squeeze one more pet fish into the tank, especially since my girls Continue reading...

August Garden Tour with Mammoth Sunflowers

written by Lauren

mammoth, sunflower, bloom, garden, august

As August nears its end, I have been relishing the new sunny perennial garden that I planted this summer along the southern side of my home. I will be sad when the summer garden season comes to an end! I have especially been enjoying the mammoth sunflowers that are blooming in the center of my new summer garden. The smallest of my sunflowers is about 5 feet high, but I think the tallest is at least 10 feet high! The first of my sunflowers began blooming about a week or so this August, while one sunflower -- the tallest -- just started blooming today. I totally am going to be planting some Continue reading...
