written by Lauren

ideas for a fall picnic

This post has been compensated by Collective Bias, INC. and The Coca-Cola Company, all opinions are mine alone. #ServeWithACoke #ShopRite #CollectiveBias I love this time of year -- the cooler temperatures, the beautiful yellows and oranges of mum and pumpkins and the falling autumn leaves. So I try to find some time during the day to enjoy the beautiful scenery. My town has a beautiful park about 2-3 blocks away, so when I can, I like to slip away for a quick and easy picnic! I have a really cute gingham-lined wicker picnic basket that a friend gave to me and my husband when we got Continue reading...

Nature Made vitamin C gummies

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #NatureMadeFamily #CollectiveBias Now that the school year is in full swing, my family's life has been busy! With homework and after-school activities, we sometimes don't focus as much as we should on healthy routines. I came up with a checklist of 5 good-for-us routines my family (and yours) can follow throughout the school year. Exercise a Few Times a Week I used to be a runner and my kids ran run cross county in middle school, but now that we aren't running so much, our exercise Continue reading...

Concrete Block Raised Garden Bed

written by Lauren

cinder block raised garden bed filled with mums

Over a year ago, I created an outdoor seating area in my yard with a few concrete/cinder blocks and some wood. Sadly the top of the bench didn't last long. Just before this summer, the wood warped, and the adhesive that held the wood to the concrete block base of the bench dried up. I debated whether to fix the bench or find another use for the concrete blocks. My family and I never used the bench much, so I nixed the idea of rebuilding it. (Even though the bench was pretty!) I thought about building a fire pit with the blocks, but my daughters didn't think we'd use it much. Continue reading...

written by Lauren

picking flowers in September

Welcome to the next installment of 12 Months of Goals. Each month, my friend, Carrie of Curly Crafty Mom, and I each take a moment to set a personal goal for ourselves. But for my October goal, I am going to do something different. I am going to resolve to not take on too many DIY or blog projects. That's because in June, I was Continue reading...
