Simple Chair Cushion Covers with Chair Ties (Pinterest Challenge)

October 14, 2019 By Lauren 26 Comments

how to make easy envelope char cushion covers with ties

Welcome to the Pinterest Challenge, hosted by Erlene of My Pinterventures! In the challenge, held once a month, bloggers like myself tackle a project we've pinned. I've been thinking of making cushions for my kitchen chairs for some time. I finally found this pin by DIY Candy on how to make a chair cushion with chair ties. This pin shows how to make an entire chair cushion from scratch. (Creating the cover, stuffing the pillow, etc.) The pin inspired me to make DIY envelope cushion covers (with chair ties) for inexpensive $5 chair cushions that I found at my local Walmart. The cushions Continue reading...

Thanks to Premier Prints for providing the beautiful fabric that I used to make my DIY box cushion with custom piping. This post contains Amazon affiliate links. Welcome to the monthly Pinterest Challenge blog hop, hosted by Erlene of My Pinterventures. Every month my blogging friends and I challenge ourselves to tackle and complete a project, craft or recipe that we've pinned on Pinterest. This month I decided to make and sew a box cushion with homemade piping for my home's living room bay window! The inspiration for my project was the piped box cushion from Pretty Handy Girl. I love Continue reading...

Decorating a Living Room Bay Window

July 5, 2018 By Lauren

Beautiful window seat with a colorful thrown and stenciled pillows

I received the pillows described in this post for free in exchange for my honest review. A few years ago my husband and I had a bay window installed in our living room. For a while, I was unsure as to how to dress up the window. I have been meaning to make a custom window seat cushion for the space, but haven't gotten around to it yet! In the meantime, I've found a much easier (and quicker) way to dress up a bay window. At first, I only had a simple cushion that I had sewed on the window seat. At the time, the cushion matched the color scheme of the curtains that I had in the Continue reading...

No-Sew Pineapple Pillows

DIY pineapple pillows from Target placemats

*This post contains Amazon affiliate links. If you click on a link and make a purchase, I earn a small commission that helps to fund this blog. Thanks! I love changing the throw pillows on my living room's sofa. The room is the first room when entering my family's home. I like to decorate the space frequently throughout the year to reflect the seasons! Since I'm a busy and thrifty mom, I like to make my pillows as quickly and as inexpensively as possible. I've found one of the best ways to make a pillow with next to no sewing is to stuff double-sided placemats. By stuffing a placemat, I Continue reading...

One thing I decided to tackle was updating my home's guest bathroom. To make my home guest ready, I stocked my guest bathroom with needed supplies. I also made a pretty valance for the bathroom window! When I have guests over, I like to make sure they have everything they need. In the bathroom, I keep a basket of extra toilet paper on hand. No Continue reading...

Easy DIY Pillows 4 Ways

February 2, 2015 By Lauren

how to make easy throw pillows

*This post contains affiliate links. When it comes to decorating my home, one thing I love to do is change the look of the throw pillows on my living room sofa. Making and decorating my own pillows is so simple and inexpensive, but it does so much to change up a room! The great thing is that I found a way to create fun custom throw pillows for the sofa without having to do much sewing! One of the simplest ways I've found to give my sofa's throw pillows a new look is by wrapping the pillows in ribbon and securing the ribbon in the back with a little bit of Velcro. With this method, you can Continue reading...

Easy Cloth Napkin Pillows

April 19, 2014 By Lauren

easy, craft, sew, diy, napkin, pillows

Hello! I am back talking about easy DIY pillows again. (I last posted about my cloth placemat pillows.) As you probably know, I am in LOVE with my new Mohawk Home area rug, and my La-Z-Boy sofa, which I adore dressing up and making look pretty. So, when I  found 4-packs of cloth napkins on sale at Target for less than $3 a pack, I had to snag them! I just love the pretty prints. I knew I could transform the cloth napkins into DIY cloth napkin pillows for my new La-Z-Boy sofa! I bought three packs of the cloth napkins. Since four napkins are in each pack, I could make Continue reading...
