Slow Cooker Vegetable Soup

written by Lauren

slow cooker vegetable soup

Now that the temperatures are dropping, it's the perfect season to make homemade soups. For an easy dinner last week, I broke out my Crock-Pot  / slow cooker and made a delicious pot of homemade vegetable soup -- filled with healthy beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic and onion. To the delight of my kids, I served the soup with pepper jack and cheddar grilled cheese sandwiches. To make the soup, all I had to do was fill my slow cooker with pre-made vegetable stock, beans and my diced or sliced vegetables, onion and garlic. I set my slow cooker on high and allowed my soup to cook for two Continue reading...

Warm and cozy scarves for fall and winter

This post contains Amazon affiliate links. If you click on this link and make a purchase, I will receive a small commission that will help fund this blog. Thanks! Now that fall is here, I'm looking forward to wearing scarves again.  I adore scarves. I love them so much that I have a whole bin in my bookcase-turned-closet dedicated just to scarves.  I shouldn't buy any more scarves, but I am always on the lookout for more! I'm in love with this season's blanket scarves and the return of plaid scarves, so I will probably be adding more scarves to my collection this fall. These Continue reading...

Christmas garland for a bathroom window for Christmas

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #GetUnderTheRim #CollectiveBias I love decorating my home for the holidays. In past years, I’ve only decorated my home’s living and family rooms for Christmas. This year, I decided to spread the holiday fun to more rooms in my house, and started by creating a decorated Christmas bathroom. The downstairs bathroom is the bathroom that guests are most likely to use in my home. I like to make sure it’s always looking its best. I think my friends and family would appreciate a Continue reading...

6 Ways to Feel Better When You’re Sick

written by Lauren

A good recipe for when you're feeling under the weather -- a good book and a hot cup of tea

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #TeaProudly #CollectiveBias   My family's health is important to me. When cold and flu season rolls around, I do everything I can to look after my family and help everyone feel better when we get sick. I have been a tea drinker for a long time. When I studied abroad in London as a junior in college, I became even more of a tea fan -- my classes would break daily for about an hour so everyone could go get a hot cup of tea!  These days, I've become a fan of Bigelow Continue reading...
