How to Store Off-Season Clothes

written by Lauren

how to store off-season summer and winter clothing

Now that the weather is getting cooler and we can put away our shorts and swim suits, the question is, how to store all our off-season summer clothing? For my family, we need to find places other than our bedroom closets to store our off-season clothes -- our closets are way too full! A cool, dry place is the best location to store off-season clothes. Basements and attics aren't ideal for clothing storage, since attics and basements can be hot or damp. I've come up with a list of places throughout the home where off-season clothes can be stored: Where to Store Off-Season Continue reading...

Preserving Herbs & Basil Garlic Bread — Taste Creations Blog Hop

written by Lauren

how to freeze basil in olive oil

Welcome to this month’s Taste Creations Linkup blog hop, where we will be sharing our herb recipes! The Taste Creations blog hop happens on the 1st Monday of Every Month at 7am PST / 10am EST. Today I'm sharing how to preserve basil. My family and I love basil. We all like pesto and enjoy basil and olive oil on our pasta. The problem is that when I buy basil, I never seem to use it all before it starts to wilt. "Basil Bombs" So I've started to preserve my basil -- it's really quite simple. When I get a batch of basil and can't use it all, I simply wash and dry my basil, Continue reading...

Here at Mom Home Guide, I've been decorating my home for fall! My house has a very small front porch, so I found a way to decorate a porch in a tight space. Fall centerpiece for a kitchen table with a fall candle, faux leaves, pine cones and a faux pumpkin

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #LoveAmericanHome #CollectiveBias #cbias I love decorating my home for fall. It sometimes takes me a while to completely embrace fall, but after a while, I'm ready to move from summer and enjoy fall fragrances, scents and pumpkins! I especially enjoy filling my home with the cozy and warm fragrances of candles in the fall. I especially like American Home™ by Yankee Candle® collection of candles. It's been busy around her now that the school year is in full swing, so I came up Continue reading...

September Goals

written by Lauren

My personal goals for September

Every month, I set three monthly goals for myself. These goals are smaller things I hope to achieve or accomplish in the next few weeks. I’ve found that setting small goals each month helps me to get things done! My friend, Carrie at Curly Craft Mom, got me started on this helpful habit! The recap of my August goals are at the bottom of this post. 1 - Take Better Photos – I bought myself a beautiful Nikon DSLR camera about a year ago.  The camera has helped me to take better photos for the blog. I have to admit, though, I am still taking photos in the automatic mode. (In my Continue reading...
