All opinions expressed in this post are truly my own. With Christmas just around the corner, my kids and I have started our holiday countdown! For our holiday countdown, I am letting the kids open one small gift every day this month as a prelude to the big day! Each day’s gift is tagged with a number that notes how many days left until Christmas. My kids are having so much fun opening up a gift each day! Continue reading...
#OurLand: Work To Protect Open Spaces
My kids' lives, like so many children's lives these days, are very scheduled. They have after-school clubs and activities, plus their music lessons in nearby Princeton. So, when my kids have the chance to run around and play, they love it! My kids and I adore taking trips together to the many local parks in our area. That's why I am joining the Trust for Public Land's movement to create and protect parks right in our own backyards. This is the TPL's mission: "The Trust for Public Land creates parks and protects land for people, ensuring healthy, livable communities for generations to come. Continue reading...
No Sew DIY Curtains
*Thanks to Premier Prints for supplying the fabric for this project! This post contains affiliate links. I have always found it difficult to find the perfect curtains to fit my style and my space. Not to mention trying to fit my daughters' styles! So, when my daughters' both got new bedrooms this past summer, I decided that I would make custom curtains for each of their rooms. (My kids had been sharing a room until then, and are excited about decorating their new rooms!) One of my daughters picked a coral and pink color scheme for her room. She has a beautiful warm soothing orange color Continue reading...
Upcycled Glass Jar & Pom Pom Flowers
My kids and I are big believers in recycling, so we are eager to celebrate National Recycling Week! I am always holding onto used spaghetti sauce jars for crafts, and have lots of yarn on hand. So, my daughters and I decided to create a yarn craft using one of our recycled glass jars and some yarn we had on hand. We also created some yarn and chopstick pom pom flowers for our upcycled glass jar project -- house plants don't seem to do well in our house! We get Chinese take-out fairly often, so we often have some chopsticks around. Our project was inspired by a Continue reading...
Book Review: From K-Pop to Kimchi
Korean food and music have become popular in American culture. Kids are dancing to "Gangnam Style" by Korean pop artist, Psy, and folks from Los Angeles to the New Jersey shore are enjoying spicy-sweet, Mexican-Korean fusion food concoctions known as Korean Tacos. The explosion of Korean culture on the American scene has been fun for my family, as my husband and my kids share a Korean heritage -- my husband's parents emigrated to the U.S. in the 1960s. So when Tuttle Publishing, which offers books on Asian culture, gave me the chance to review some of their books, I jumped at the chance. A Continue reading...

Fall Paper Leaf Wreath
Happy October! To celebrate fall, I decided to make an easy and fun paper leaf wreath for my home. What's great is that I made the fall paper leaf wreath at no cost with materials I already had at home. I love how the happy fall colors brighten up my house! The project was simple -- I just cut out a circular wreath out of cardboard and glued on some paper leaves that I cut out from paper that I already had. I didn't even need a glue gun -- I used regular white school glue. I also used some white twine to wrap around my wreath (for a decorative touch) and to hang my wreath. Easy! Paper Continue reading...
#ShareAwesome: Sharing Digital Content Safely
As my twin tweens entered middle school this fall, my husband and I gave them their own cell phones. It's an exciting time for my kids as they broaden their horizons by communicating more freely with their friends by texting and sharing digital media on apps like Instagram. That's why I am participating in the #ShareAwesome digital advocacy campaign, sponsored by National PTA and LifeLock. The campaign's focus is to encourage an open and dynamic conversation between kids and adults about ways to share fun digital content in a safe and positive way. My kids really like expressing themselves Continue reading...
