Welcome to the final day of the Festive Christmas Ideas blog hop! Today my blogging friends and I will be sharing Christmas breakfast ideas. I will be sharing a fun Christmas charcuterie board and snack tray! In my home, I already have a rustic Christmas tree up with homemade ornaments, tree topper and garland. Now that's taken care of, it's time to think about what to serve my family on Christmas day! In my home, our Christmas tradition is to have cinnamon rolls while opening presents. Not the homemade ones, but the refrigerated ones you buy in a can from the supermarket and then Continue reading...

DIY Snowflake Wood Slice Ornaments

written by Lauren

diy snowflake wood slice ornament with a buffalo plaid ribbon

This post contains Amazon affiliate links. This year, I chose to put up a beautiful rustic minimal Christmas tree. The tree is 6 feet high and just 2 feet wide, so it is the perfect size for displaying in my living room's bay window. I thought it would be sweet to have a simpler rustic/homespun vibe this year, so I made all the trimmings (on a tight budget) for the tree myself. In all, I think I only spent about $20 decorating the tree. (That's a small budget!) One of the elements I made for the tree are inexpensive wood slice snowflake ornaments painted with a muted green and blue. I Continue reading...

written by Lauren

The Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo 950 quietly and efficiently cleans a home without requiring any work by you

For today's Friday Finds, I am sharing about my Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo robotic vacuum, a handy robotic vacuum that’s adding more “me” time to each day! Ecovacs has a line of Deebot Ozmo robotic vacuums -- mine is the 950. On Fridays I like to share products that I've used and love. My home has wall to wall carpeting in every room except the kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms. That is a lot of carpeting! That means I have to spend lots of time vacuuming — at least, I used to! Now that I have the ECOVACS DEEBOT OZMO 950 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum Cleaner & Mop I can enjoy some “me time” while Continue reading...

A Day In the Life of a “Suburban Housewife”

written by Lauren

wire laundry basket

By: Erica Kortepeter-Ragan (Guest Post) Today I am doing something different - I am sharing an essay by my friend, Erica Kortepeter-Ragan. Erica Kortepeter-Ragan is passionate about the causes of women of the past and present. She wrote this article in response to the recent public comments of President Trump that perpetuate the myth of a suburban housewife who sits at home without anything else to do but wear aprons and bake pies. Erica's grandmother was an original suburban housewife and even then did not “fit” this mold. In reality, she was a true “Rosie the Riveter,” who Continue reading...
