written by Lauren

spring and summer petunia and alyssum flowers planted in an easy to assemble Keter raised garden kit

This post was sponsored by Keter®, which provided me with a raised garden bed kit to review. This post contains Amazon affiliate links. If you click on an Amazon link, it costs you nothing, but may earn me a small commission that helps me to fund this blog. Thanks! Hi, everyone! I'm here to share about something that has helped me achieve one of my gardening goals! I have long wanted to add flowers to a garden bed area that's on one side of my home's driveway. The soil there is very hard and tough to work with. Nothing seems to grow there -- all the plants the builder planted there died, Continue reading...

grow sign at Target

This post is sponsored in part by Keter, which provided me with free gardening products in exchange for my honest review. This post contains Amazon affiliate links. Happy Wednesday, everyone! Although it's officially spring here in NJ, it doesn't quite feel like spring yet. But luckily, I've noticed a few signs of spring here and there! One sure sign that spring is coming is that spring decor and gardening items are starting to pop up in local stores. I always like to hit the dollar spot area at my local Target. There I snapped the above photo -- I love the adorable "grow" sign and the Continue reading...

This post contains Amazon affiliate links for your shopping convenience. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays -- I love the special time that I get to spend with family and friends during this season. But as someone who loves to garden and play in the dirt year-round, this season and the approach of winter can make me sad! I know that it will be several months before I will be gardening again. That's why I love the idea of Continue reading...

Concrete Block Raised Garden Bed

written by Lauren

cinder block raised garden bed filled with mums

Over a year ago, I created an outdoor seating area in my yard with a few concrete/cinder blocks and some wood. Sadly the top of the bench didn't last long. Just before this summer, the wood warped, and the adhesive that held the wood to the concrete block base of the bench dried up. I debated whether to fix the bench or find another use for the concrete blocks. My family and I never used the bench much, so I nixed the idea of rebuilding it. (Even though the bench was pretty!) I thought about building a fire pit with the blocks, but my daughters didn't think we'd use it much. Continue reading...

Once a month, my blogging friend and I, Carrie of Curly Crafty Mom, get together to each share a personal goal for the month. We’ve found that setting personal monthly goals really help in getting things done! My goal for August will be to set up and fence in my backyard's two raised garden beds. I didn't get a chance to start a summer garden this year, so I'm hoping to plant a fall garden instead! I've never planted a fall Continue reading...
