Celebrate National Bird Day
My dad gave me a really great bird feeder for Christmas (thanks, Dad!), and I am hoping to put it up today, since it is National Bird Day! It is supposed to rain today, so that should make the ground nice and soft for getting my bird feeder and post into the ground. My dad has the same birdfeeder and pole, and he says it attracts lots of beautiful birds to his backyard. 2013 Year in Review
Happy 2014, everyone! I can't believe that 2013 is over! Last year was a busy one here at Mom Home Guide. August Garden Tour with Mammoth Sunflowers
As August nears its end, I have been relishing the new sunny perennial garden that I planted this summer along the southern side of my home. I will be sad when the summer garden season comes to an end! I have especially been enjoying the mammoth sunflowers that are blooming in the center of my new summer garden. The smallest of my sunflowers is about 5 feet high, but I think the tallest is at least 10 feet high! DIY Bird Bath from a Clay Pot
It's been a few weeks since I planted my flower garden. Now that my garden is complete, I have been loving it! While the garden has been a haven for me, I've been hoping that the garden would also be a welcome place for birds as well. My kids and I love to bird watch! Mason jars are everywhere these days, and I love it! Mason jars are relatively inexpensive and are easy to find -- you can purchase mason jars online at Amazon.com, and they are even at my local Walmart. I've seen several mason jar crafts online that I would love to make for my home!
