Welcome to Mom Home Guide! Today is a fun day because it is the first day of the $100 Room Challenge! The challenge, held twice a year and hosted by Erin of Lemons, Lavender and Laundry, encourages bloggers to update a room for just $100 in the span of a month. I've followed the challenge for quite some time now. I've learned from the challenge that it's possible to make substantial changes to a room without spending a lot of money! Since I'm all about not breaking the bank (but I do love a pretty home), this challenge is perfect for me! The challenge encourages bloggers like me to use Continue reading...

I've always liked the look of mini Christmas wreaths on kitchen cabinets, so I decided to make that my project for this challenge. Be sure to check out the links at the bottom of this post to see all of my friends' projects!! This is a very "light" craft project for me. Saturday Road Trip My twin teen daughters, husband and I had a fun mini road trip with our puppy Mochi last weekend. We first hit a local hot dog/hamburger stand for lunch. We then went to Halo Pub, an ice cream place that sells homemade ice cream. Our puppy turned 5 months old over the weekend, so we gave him his first taste of ice cream! He got his own cup of vanilla ice cream and loved it! Afterwards we went to Sayen Continue reading...
Planning a Kitchen Remodel
If you've been following this blog, you probably know that I've taken steps to update the look of my home's kitchen. I've repainted most of the oak cabinets white. (I just have a few more to paint.) I've purchased some new cabinet hardware to install. I've made small changes like organizing drawers and installing inexpensive tile under the kitchen sink. I'd love to change out the flooring and the counter, too. A good blogging friend of mine is doing a complete kitchen remodel -- I have to admit I'm a bit jealous! If you are considering a DIY kitchen remodel or if you are thinking of having Continue reading...

It's been a few months since I've organized many of the places I use for storage in my home, so I thought I'd think about the organizing I've done so far and see what I can do to add more storage and reorganize any messes that might have popped up since my original projects. Now that I'm reviewing some of my previous projects, it gets me thinking that I'd love to organize my master bedroom closet with a beautiful closet organization Continue reading...

Silver & Reindeer Christmas Table
This post was sponsored by Oriental Trading, which provided me with the decor for my kitchen table. This weekend, I went on a Christmas home tour in my town with two neighbors/friends. My town is filled with beautiful old Victorians, craftsman-style and Greek Revival homes, etc. On the tour I got to see a handful of homes beautifully decorated for the holidays, and it got me in the Christmas spirit! So I am happy to share today how I decorated my kitchen's farmhouse dining table for Christmas! Almost all of the items I used to decorate my Christmas table with are from Oriental Trading. I Continue reading...
