Hey, everyone! I have some time today, so I am sharing my Monday Favorites early! How is your weekend going? I am having an enjoyable weekend with my twin tweens and husband. My girls enjoyed celebrating a friend's birthday and I got to spend time with a good friend of mine! It's always nice to spend the weekend with friends! Today is a fun day, because it's when I share the wonderful projects, crafts and recipes that were shared at last Wednesday's A Little Bit of Everything Link Up Party! I really loved Stephanie of Casa Watkins' tutorial on how to make over a thrift/dollar store Continue reading...
How to Protect Annuals from Frost
Hi, everyone! I just finished extending my home's front flower bed. In the bed, I planted some pretty spring and summer annuals. I also spread mulch over the sunny perennial garden flower bed that extends along the southern side of my home. I spent more than 6 hours shoveling and spreading mulch! So you can imagine my dismay when I discovered that in the next few days, my area is expected to have flower-killing frost! I spent at least $30 in my annuals and don't want to see that money go to waste! So to protect my flowers, I am following these tips on how to protect annuals from Continue reading...
Follow Friday (April 10)
Happy Friday, everyone! Today is one of my favorite days of the week, because today is the day when I share some fantastic projects from some of my favorite bloggers for Follow Friday (#ff)! I recently discovered that Diane from In My Own Style lives within an hour's drive from me and once lived in my neck of the woods. Small world! I met Diane at The Haven blog conference last year, and have always liked her home decorating style! I love her Modern Paint Finish Using DIY Chalk Paint Tutorial. I really like how her dresser came out! Now that it's spring, I am really starting to get Continue reading...
How to Start a Blog
When I was laid off from my full-time writing and editing job seven years ago, I was a loss with what to do. My twin daughters were in preschool, and I knew I wanted to work while somehow somehow spending more time with them. I had no idea how to start a blog, and didn't even know that I would start a blog! When I worked full time, I found that when I got home from work, all I had time to do was feed my twin babies, give them a bath and put them to bed -- not much quality time there! So, Mom Home Guide was born from my desire to spend more time with my kids! Writing and running my blog Continue reading...

DIY Stool Side Table
Hi, everyone! Today is the first Thursday of the month, so that means I am guest posting at Ask Anna today, sharing my most recent decorating project -- a DIY Stool Side Table! My Home Gym & BODYARMOR
I received free product to complete this review, but my opinions are 100% my own. This post contains affiliate links. Now that spring is here, my tweens and I can't wait to get into shape! They ran cross country in the beginning of the school year and want to run cross country again next fall. I'd like to look good in my summer clothes. So we plan on getting fit together! We've created a "home gym" of sorts in our home! I was thinking of joining a gym, but I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars a year for a gym membership! So, instead, my daughters and I plan to do a lot of walking Continue reading...
Monday Favorites (Easter Crafts)
Hey, everyone! Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend! Today I am sharing my favorite projects that were shared at last Wednesday's A Little Bit of Everything Link Up Party. Easter is coming up soon, so I just adore the DIY Recycled Easter Bunny Vases by Weekend Craft! Her tutorial shows how you can turn any ordinary glass jar (in this case, a jar for store bought salsa) into fun Easter decor! I also love the DIY decorative fabric pin board by Curly Craft Mom. My twin daughters' birthday is coming up soon, so maybe this is something I can make and customize for their rooms for Continue reading...

How to Season a Cast Iron Pan So It Won’t Stick
*This post contains Amazon affiliate links. My non-stick pan has become anything but non-stick recently, so I've decided to invest in a Le Creuset cast iron pan. I've been wanting to switch to a cast iron skillet because I worry about the chemicals that a non-stick pan may contain. But, as you may know, you have to "season" a cast iron pan before using it, otherwise everything will stick! So recently, I seasoned my cast iron pan! All it took were five easy steps to season my pan and ready it for use. Now my cast iron pan is just as good as any non-stick pan! Plus, it will likely last Continue reading...
