*This post contains Amazon affilate links. Earlier on Mom Home Guide, I shared my goal of converting my home's coat closet, which is just off the kitchen, into a pantry. My kitchen doesn't have a pantry, and it really needed one! As soon as my blog post pubbed I got to work on making my dream of having a kitchen pantry a reality! Making a Coat Closet Pantry I am a night owl, so late one night, I started searching for easy ways to convert a coat closet into a pantry. I was hesitant to drill into the walls and put up shelving, because my coat closet shares a wall with my home's laundry Continue reading...
Pantry Organization Ideas
Last week, I joined my friend, Carrie of Curly Crafty Mom, in sharing my personal goals for April. One of those goals is to convert a rarely used cost closet off my home's kitchen to a pantry. My kitchen doesn't have a pantry and has limited storage space, so I have really been wanting extra space to store food items! I've been working hard this week to create a new pantry for my home. I am pleased with how it's coming along. You'll be interested to see how I've added pantry storage to my home's former coat closet -- my new pantry might be a bit unconventional, but Continue reading...
April Monthly Goals
Happy Saturday, everyone! I can't believe we are into April already! My blogging friend, Carrie of Curly Crafty Mom, has a really fun monthly goals series that she launched this year. Every month she blogs about her goals for the month, and the next month, she revisits the previous month's goals to see how how much she accomplished! I like the idea of setting monthly goals for myself, so I decided to get in on the fun! I think regular goal setting is a good exercise for achieving goals! Here are my April Monthly Goals! 1 - Convert the coat closet in the family room into a pantry. Continue reading...
Organizing a Nightstand & Drawer #SpringClean16
* This post is sponsored by Kimberly-Clark and The Motherhood. #SpringClean16 With spring around the corner, I've been cleaning and decorating my home to get my home spring ready! I re-decorated my home's living room for spring, and this week, I decided to do some much-needed cleaning and organizing in the master bedroom, particularly the nightstand by my side of the bed! Declutter Nightstand My nightstand tends to be a junk drawer -- I toss things in there that I don't want to lose track of, or things that I need to tackle at some point. But eventually, things tend to get Continue reading...

Charging & Organizing Electronics with Energizer® EcoAdvanced™ Batteries

Now that my kids are tweens, electronics have replaced many of their cute toys -- instead of playing with stuffed animals and dollhouses, it's all about the Wii, iPods, Kindles and iPhones. Which is fine -- my kids can be quite creative on their iPods and iPhones and use cool new apps to edit images and videos! But since my daughters usually have some sort of electronic device at their Continue reading...
Tips for an Organized Linen Closet
* This post contains affiliate links. My home's upstairs hallway linen closet used to be a mess! I used to dread using it! It was so bad that I could hardly put things away, or when I did, I had to stuff everything in. It looked terrible! This is what the closet used to look like: One day I finally decided to tackle the closet, and was surprised at how little time it took to get it organized! It took me less than an hour! These are the steps I used to quickly organize my home's linen closet: 1. Weed Out What's Not Needed. One of the best ways to get a linen closet organized Continue reading...
DIY Fabric Covered Bulletin Boards
I can't believe that the new school year is almost here! In my daughters' school district, school starts in about two and a half weeks! So, to get my kids ready for school, I made custom fabric covered bulletin boards for them! I found a fun and easy way to put the bulletin boards together -- I simply cut the fabric to fit the cork part of inexpensive bulletin boards, and pinned the fabric onto the board with decorative silver tacks! My kids love their new bulletin boards, since they each picked out their own fabrics, and the boards match the decor of their bedrooms! I am sharing the Continue reading...
Back to School Ideas
The BACK TO SCHOOL countdown has begun! In my kids' school district, the new school year is only about three weeks away! That means many of us moms will be scrambling to be ready for school and hectic fall schedules! So, I'm sharing some ideas to get the new school year off to a good start! I love the DIY Homework Station Idea by Must Have Mom! I love how she organized all her kids' homework supplies (like notebooks, crayons, pencils, etc.) to fit neatly on one portable tray. And each school supply has its own container! Genius! My kids like to do their homework on our kitchen table, so Continue reading...
