Extra Yummy, But Easy Kettle Popcorn Recipe

written by Lauren

I love me some good kettle corn! It's sweet, it's salty -- perfect!! But until recently, I didn't know how easy it is to make homemade kettle corn. I thought I had to either buy pre-made kettle corn or make store-bought kettle corn in the microwave. But over the weekend I made some homemade kettle corn, and my eyes were opened! Now I can make super delicious homemade kettle corn for my family whenever the craving hits -- it's so easy! I've simplified the recipe even more by making the popped corn for my kettle corn in an air popper. (Kettle corn is most often made at home on the stove.) I'm Continue reading...

Thanks to author Robin Newman for providing me with signed copies of her children's books. This book contains Amazon affiliate links. I love a good book. I especially like a good book that's written by a friend! Author Robin Newman went to Bryn Mawr College with me. She recently wrote a new children's book, "No Peacocks!: A Feathered Tale of Three Mischievous Foodies." The book has gorgeous and colorful illustrations by Chris Ewald. Robin sweetly sent me (and signed) her new book. She also mailed and autographed a collection of the other adorable children's books that she's Continue reading...

New Jersey to Vermont Road Trip Part 3 (Stowe and Auto Toll Road)

written by Lauren

Some of the views that can be seen from the auto toll road in Stowe, Vermont .

Last week I shared the second leg of my family's road trip from New Jersey to Vermont. (I shared about our Stowe, Vt., hotel, The Lodge at Spruce Peak, and our day checking out sights like the Beb & Jerry;s factory.) My family had driven up through New York State and stayed in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., one night to break up the drive and visited Burlington, Vt., before heading to Stowe. We woke up to a beautiful sunny morning our second full day in Stowe. I was happy since our first full day in Stowe was rainy. (That day we did the Ben & Jerry's tour and went shopping). My family and I Continue reading...

The area of Stowe Vermont features mountains, beautiful sky and plenty of breathtaking farmland.

Earlier this week, I wrote about my family's first leg of our summer vacation from New Jersey to Vermont. (The first two days of our trip we drove up to Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and visited the fun lakeside town of Burlington, Vt.) Today I am going to share a bit about the gorgeous resort we stayed at in Stowe, and about our first evening and first full day in Stowe. After my family spent a beautiful afternoon in Burlington, Vt., we headed east to Stowe, Vt., where we  spent the rest of the week. The Lodge at Spruce Peak in Stowe, Vermont I booked a beautiful suite at The Lodge at Continue reading...
