Today we are featuring bread recipes that are perfect for gifting for the holidays. I am sharing a super easy and delicious skillet cornbread recipe! Big Changes in My Life Since my Empty Nest

written by Lauren

Check out these tips for embracing the empty nest and actually enjoying it.

My twins both started college this fall. Coming home to an empty house after my husband and I dropped both of them off was hard. I found that I was weepy on and off for at least the first week or two. I still miss them now, but I have been doing a lot better. A big reason why things have improved is that I have a new job! So exciting. I am working as a content writer for a media company. My job keeps me very busy but I have been having a lot of fun. I also find that I have less time to think about how much I miss my kids. I always planned to go back to work full-time again once my Continue reading...

Creating a Custom Planner

written by Lauren

custom Purple Trail planner

Thanks to Purple Trail for sponsoring this post. Every year I get myself a new planner. I spend a lot of time searching for the perfect planner, as I rely on my planner daily to remember all of my family's activities. A planner is especially important to me now, as I recently started a new job that keeps me quite busy. I work as a content writer and am often juggling several writing assignments at once. So when Purple Trail gave me the opportunity to design my own custom planner, I happily agreed. After browsing all of the beautiful planner options at Purple Trail, I chose to customize Continue reading...

Planting Shrubs and Trees This Fall

written by Lauren

The fall is a good time to plant bushes like hydrangea.

Thanks to PlantingTree.com for sponsoring this post. I've always wanted a hydrangea plant. So when PlantingTree.com asked me if I would like to partner with them, I happily agreed. PlantingTree.com can send trees, shrubs and other plants like ornamental grasses right to your door. Ordering a Hyndrangea Plant in the Mail I decided to order an endless summer hydrangea plant. Once I ordered my hydrangea plant, it only took it 3 days to get to my door. My 1-gallon hydrangea ($59.95) arrived on my doorstep in perfect condition with big, beautiful green leaves. With Planting Continue reading...

NewAir 20th Anniversary Limited Edition Beverage Fridge—Review and 20% Off Coupon Code

written by Lauren

The NewAir 20th Anniversary Limited Edition Beverage Fridge has a dual pane glass door, enough room for 100 cans, and can cool drinks to 37 degrees.

Thanks to NewAir for providing me with the beverage fridge reviewed in this post. #newairanniversary #newairusa  My daughter started her first year of college at Smith College in August. She and her roommate are sharing a tiny mini fridge. While my daughter and her roommate's mini fridge fits in their super small dorm room, it doesn't have a lot of refrigerator space. So, I am upgrading my daughter's mini fridge to the recently released and super modern looking NewAir 20th Anniversary Limited Edition Beverage Fridge. She is excited! 100 Can Beverage Fridge The NewAir 20th Continue reading...

Feathering an Empty Nest

written by Lauren

I love this cozy orange, black and gray Autumn bedroom

Thanks to Therapedic for providing the products reviewed in this post. All opinions expressed in this post are 100% my own. #Therapedic #RoomRefresh #HomeRefresh My twin teens both started their first year of college at the end of August. (One is at Smith College, and another is at Bryn Mawr College.) It's an exciting time for them, but a hard time for their mom! I miss my kids. I've always been close with my teens. They went to high school remote for half of their high school junior year and all of their senior year, so we spent even more time together. It's been an adjustment for me now Continue reading...

Braised Chicken with Beer and Mushrooms

written by Lauren

chicken braised in beer with mushrooms, carrots and thyme

This post includes Amazon affiliate links. Today my blogging friends and I are getting together for the Taste Creations blog hop. My blogging friends and I get together once a month to share recipes that include a common ingredient. This month's common ingredient is mushrooms. I decided to make an easy and delicious one-pot recipe — braised chicken thighs with beer and mushroom sauce. For this recipe, I used one of the most handy pots in my kitchen — a Dutch oven. A Dutch oven is a deep, heavy-duty pot with a lid. It's a versatile pot — it can be used stovetop or in the oven. I have Continue reading...
