Magic Reindeer Food Free Printable

written by Lauren

free Christmas printable, reindeer food, santa

Now that Christmas is a week away, my children are very excited for Santa's visit. One tradition that we have and that my children look forward to, is sprinkling magic reindeer food on our driveway Christmas Eve. Luckily, they are usually given a bag of the "magic dust," by one of their friends. But, the reindeer food, which is a combination of quick-cooking oats/uncooked oatmeal and glitter, can easily be put together on one's own. All you need to do is take about a cup of quick cooking oats and mix it in with a little glitter from the craft store. In the bags of reindeer food that my Continue reading...

Homemade $1 Garden Flag

written by Lauren

garden, flag, craft, DIY, $1 store

I've been wanting a holiday garden flag for my home's frontyard garden for a while now, but haven't wanted to spend much on it -- garden flags that I love often cost $10 or more, and I can't bring myself to spend that much money on such a small decoratiave item. So the other day, when I spotted a cute dishtowel with a cute blue and red winter cardinal print, I bought it to use as the material for a homemade Christmas garden flag. Making the Flag To craft the DIY garden flag, I only used one side of the towel, since the towel repeats the same print on the front and back, but with Continue reading...

More Projects With Duck Tape®

written by Lauren

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Duck Brand® for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. The custom Duck Tape® placement that I created.   I have been loving Duck Tape® lately. The tape is inexpensive, durable, comes in great designs and is an easy way to add some flair and durability to household items. Recently, I used a star pattern and a pretty spring green Duck Tape® to dress up some cardboard storage boxes that I use to store my children’s toys in our basement playroom. The colorful Duck Tape® adds some interest and fun to our unfinished gray Continue reading...

Box Snowman Advent Calendar

written by Lauren

box, indoor calendar, snowman

I’ve always wanted a new advent calendar. I got our advent calendar, which is shown in my Christmas Countdown post, at a holiday sale at my daughter’s school. It is cute, but I’ve always wanted to have a bigger, more fun option for my kids. A while back, I pinned a really cute snowman gift tower from House Bella on MomHomeGuide’s Christmas Pinterest board.                                 So for the past few days, as boxes filled with Christmas gifts Continue reading...

Keurig K-Cup Home Brewer — A Hot Father’s Day Gift!

written by Lauren

I love my family's Keurig K-Cup Home Brewer. I originally bought the coffee maker as a gift to give to my husband for Christmas, but my kids convinced me to give the brewer to him right away, since he often drinks coffee on the way to work in the morning. If the man in your life doesn't have a K Cup home brewer, it would make a perfect Father's Day gift! The brewer has become a family favorite. My kids love it, because now they can make their own hot drinks on their own, instead of asking me to heat up some hot apple cider, hot chocolate, etc., in the microwave. I keep large mugs in a great Continue reading...

Time to “Boo” the Neighbors!

written by Lauren

boogram

It’s that time of year again – it’s time to “boo” the neighbors! We started a little Halloween  tradition last year in our neighborhood where kids and families take turns “booing” each other, secretly leaving fun little packages of treats, toys and goodies by a neighbor’s door. We are new to the tradition, but the Halloween tradition is popular in many neighborhoods across the country. Booing the neighbors is sort of like “Secret Santa,” where the gift recipient is left to guess who the gift giver is – but this fun activity is a fall tradition instead of a Christmas one. Our Own Continue reading...

Welcome, Autumn! (20 Things I Love About Fall)

written by Lauren

Fall Nesting Party

Now that the weather is getting cooler, I am excited about fall and the fun activities that my family and I can share together the next few months. So to get in the spirit of the season, I decided to share the 20 things that I love most about the fall: 1. Fall walks in the woods and the sight and smell of autumn leaves 2. Watching my kids make huge piles of leaves in the yard to jump in 3. Brewing cups of mulled apple cider for my kids 4. Snuggling under warm comforters on cool autumn nights 5. Fall movie nights with the family and big bowls of buttery Continue reading...

Homemade Holiday Pillows and Curtains

Valentine's Day, Halloween and Christmas pillows

Now that St. Patrick's Day is coming up, it might be time to pull out my sewing machine and stitch some handmade valences for my daughters' hall bathroom. I've gotten into the habit of making homemade seasonal valences for our home's bathrooms ever since I got my sewing machine as a gift a few years ago. My husband bought the machine for me because I used to get my fingers bloody when I used to hand sew my daughters' patches on their Girl Scout uniforms. Those darm patches are so thick (and the iron-on glue on the back of them never stick well) that once I'd finally get the needle Continue reading...
